3 out of 5 eggsOK, after jumping through hoops

Pros: Its decent performance for the price. Prices are falling though, and I wish I had waited for a sale on a different drive. See below for details.

Cons: During Windows 7 setup, long delays of about 1 full minute where HD light was solid and no visible progress. Eventually went through, but random long lags in performance continued during driver loading and windows updates. Tried to update firmware, but got error after error and update would not complete. After forum searching, I found that AMD chipset drivers would not allow firmware update to complete. After trying to uninstall chipset driver, still would not work. Had to format and load Windows again, then run firmware update using only windows compatibility drivers supplied with OS. After that and an unhelpful email from Kingston, it seems to be working much better, not a blazing SSD, but still decent.

Other Thoughts: Frustrating to say the least. I thought the days of SSD's released with junk firmware were behind us. Should AMD's drivers be partially to blame.... perhaps for the update problems. But really, it never should have left the factory with such junk firmware. Would not recommend this drive to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggsGotta love it

Pros: Average to above-average tech knowledge. am not running tests or anything to verify speeds. SSD works as expected and I can clearly notice the speed boost. am using this one for data, bought a 2nd one for my apps. popped them into a fujitsu T4410. i'm a realtor, time is money. this was easily worth the $.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsAn ssd

Pros: Fast, Small, SSD, minimal power usage.

This disk is primarily used for photo editing by my wife. She does a photo shoot, comes home, uploads to this drive, edits on this drive, saves the final product on a different HDD.

She has told me her photo access and editing speeds have "AT LEAST" quadrupled, over the previous HDD's we had been using.

Cons: There was a mail-in rebate (MIR) on this when I bought it. I planned on getting two of them. Come to find out you can only get one MIR per item purchased according to newegg's policy on their website, so I didn'tbuy two.

Other Thoughts: An unnamed competitor had a different model Kingston SSD with the same MIR at the same time. If I hadn't assumed they had the same MIR policy as Newegg, I would have bought both of the different Kingston drives from them.

5 out of 5 eggsThin and fast!

Pros: Blazes on SATA 6Gbps!
Great price.

Cons: None so far. I guess we'll see how the rebate process goes.
