5 out of 5 eggsFantastic military watch

Pros: I've owned this watch for about two years now. It has been dragged through sand, dropped on rocks, hit with flying brass and even sim rounds, and has hardly any wear to show for it. Extremely durable.

The watch face is big, but not ridiculously big like some of the "trendy" oversized watches out there. Numbers are very easy to read, and they glow bright enough to see easily at night, without being so bright you give away your position.

The solar power system is great. You can leave it in a bag for three months, and it will still hold a charge. Two years and I haven't needed a battery change, either.

Cons: If you wear it for a week straight without taking it off or taking a shower, the watch band starts to smell. Really, really bad.

3 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: Big, eco drive.

Cons: Defective, refurbished?

Other Thoughts: I was price shopping for a kicking around style watch that I wouldn't have to maintain in any way, just wear it. I did want it to work though. Three days in it stuck on Wednesday and will not move. I am frustrated to have to send it to who knows wear to have it repaired... Otherwise, I like it!

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easily the most readable face of any watch I've found, the face is dead-simple and very legible (you'd have to be blind to miss the 12, 3, 6, and 9 markers). Eco-Drive -- no batteries. All the little things are right: easy to set, all the hands line up correctly (it's weird that I should feel the need to call that out, but I've run into quite a few watches more expensive than this one lately where that wasn't the case), day and date are easily read, etc. For $88 you really can't go wrong.

Cons: The strap is pretty stiff out of the box, but that should improve with more wear. A lot of people online seem to replace the strap immediately. I doubt I'll do that, but it's worth noting.

Other Thoughts: This is not a small watch. It's smaller than a lot of the 3 inch wide, 1 inch thick portable sun-dials that other companies are popping out, and it sits well on my wrist (I have small wrists, so this is always going to be a toss up for watches over 40mm), but it's still bigger than anything else I own. It's noticeably heavier than even my seiko chronograph (ssb015). That's not necessarily a bad thing, though. As far as trade-offs go, I'll take it, because I really like the extra real estate on the face. I'm pretty sure I could read this thing in a snowstorm at midnight.

5 out of 5 eggsNice watch

Pros: This is my first Citizen watch and so far I am very happy with my purchase. The watch keeps accurate time and the Eco-Drive means no need to worry about batteries. The night time glow of the watch is bright and clear, along with the easy to read numbers it makes for a nice proficient time piece.

Cons: Strap is very well made but could be longer for larger wrist.
Day/Date marker is small

Other Thoughts: Overall I really like this watch!!

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Simple easy to read face
Military styling
No battery needed
Seems accurate

Cons: Band isn't the best, but ok.

Other Thoughts: I'd been wearing a Luminox 3050 series before I purchased this. I wanted something a little simpler for everyday wearing.

I like the watch. It's not quite as fancy as some others I've owned, but for a price of $88 (50% off retail) I can't complain too much.

It's a simple, no frills design.

I replaced the band with a Maratac Zulu style strap. Wasn't sure I liked the original, but I can always go back to it and decide if I like it.

The illumination on this watch is pretty good. It's not super bright, but as long as it's been in sunlight for a while during the day, you should get adequate lume through the night. (Assuming your eyes are adjusted to the dark.)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat everyday wear

Pros: Superb lume that lasts all night and of course never needing to change the battery thanks to Eco-drive.

Cons: Strap is lame, I recommend a Texas strap or other high quality alternative.

Other Thoughts: I needed an affordable Eco-drive for casual wear and this watch fits the bill.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Watch Without Need for New Batteries

Pros: Handsome looking with a military green face appearance; good luminescence; seems sturdy; good purchase price and no need for batteries.

Cons: Watch band is initially a little stiff. Time setting protocol upon start-up seems a bit confusing, but is quickly resolved.

Other Thoughts: The watch band take time to limber up and conform to your arm, but the fabric band does use metal grommets for the adjustment holes which should make it last longer. Watch size is not small, but it is not as large as some styles and looks very close to the newer Bell & Ross round models. Pretty bright numerals and time hands at night. Transaction and delivery time were very good.
