Dare to discover Forbidden Island! Join a team of fearless adventurers on a do-or-die mission to capture four sacred treasures from the ruins of this perilous paradise. Your team will have to work together and make some pulse-pounding maneuvers as the island will sink beneath every step! Race to collect the treasures and make a triumphant escape before you are swallowed into the watery abyss! It?s a great honor to introduce the latest creation by cooperative game master Matt Leacock. There are so many things we love about this unique game: from the rich illustrations to the collaborative nature of play to the innovative set of rules to the infinite possibilities generated by the tiles and cards. Don?t be surprised if your pulse starts pounding faster soon after you start playing ? it?s a game that instantly generates an electrifying atmosphere of tension and excitement!
Pros: A fun family game that stresses cooperation and encourages conversation. I’ve already played it over a dozen time with my near adult teens and have even had my son from college ask to join in. They actually put away the cell phones to play so it keeps everyone’s attention; including the friends that they have had over. Works best if you actually listen to each other’s thoughts on how the team can succeed. Typical game will take 30 minutes and the family time is better than any sit-com that would have taken the same amount of time (and there are no commercials).
Cons: You will not find this a fun game if you are looking to beat all your opponents and then party on the rubble of their crushed egos. In fact if you feel you have to control every situation then you will find yourself and your team “under water”, losing the game for everyone.
Other Thoughts: There is just enough chance in the game so that even if your team loses no one person will feel that it was "all their fault".
