Pros: Good value for the money and very easy to use. The controls on the Mixtrack are smartly laid out and easy to use. The 3 hot cue buttons are great for jumping around tracks, and the jog wheels allow for seeking and scratching. There is little resistance in the cross fader so you can quickly cut between playing tracks for slick mixes. The VirtualDJ software (on the US model) is easy to use and read, it's pretty basic, but enough to get the job done. The "Sync" buttons flash when a drum kick or snare hit plays, so you can watch to see if your tracks are in sync. The buttons are made of a hard plastic and make a nice "click" when you press them.
Cons: All plastic, the unit is very light, so I'm worried about it standing up to some of my more "intense" mixing sessions. No additional sound channels, if you want to cue your mix, you'll need an external sound card or upgrade to the Mixtrack Pro (which has a built in sound card). It could just be my tastes, but the scratching feels too unnatural and choppy. There is a slight delay from adjusting the pitch sliders before I hear the change (could be my outdated lappy though).
Other Thoughts: All in all the Mixtrack is a DJ in a box, plug it into your computer, install the software, and you're ready to start mixing! The only real limitation of the unit is your own imagination. If you're considering getting into DJing as a hobby and just starting out, the Numark Mixtrack will provide you with the best bang for your buck.
