Lotos Technology LTP5000D IGBT Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter 110/220VAC 1/2" Cut

The Lotos LTP5000D is designed and constructed to withstand extensive use in rugged industrial and construction environments. It is perfect for any home project too. This machine is capable to work in conjunction with a CNC machine. The Lotos LTP5000D is a 50A dual voltage (110/220VAC) Digital IGBT Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter (50A). Using this portable plasma cutter is cheaper than Oxyacetylene after just a few cuts. Less cleaning, less maintenance, less noxious gases, less fire hazard, simply less overall work and a better, cleaner cut. The torch trigger can be moved for a custom fit. It can be used in finger or thumb positions. Torch head is low profile for tight spaces. High Frequency DC Plasma cuts thicker materials than standard DC plasma cutters. High Frequency Plasma cuts faster with less distortion in the work piece.Machine FeaturesTrue Automatic Dual Voltage (110VAC/220VAC) Dual Frequency (50Hz/60Hz) Both Pilot arc start and Contact arc start capable (if the pilot arc start is not required disconnect the pilot arc cable according to the manual)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: well, i don't want to sound like a broken record but I was also wondering if this machine was that good, for that price. I set the cutter up, made an longer extension cord for it, plugged it in and started cutting some 3/8th mild steel like cutting butter with a hot knife. the speed of cut is just a little bit slower, not much then a 2200 dollar machine. next test how long will it last?

Cons: none yet but was easy to setup and I am gonna treat the air flow gauge with care, it's plastic. I we see how long it lasts

Pros: Good price and cuts awesome and it will cut thicker steel and the pilot arc will start the cut in any paint or rust.

4 out of 5 eggsLTP500D

Pros: Great little unit that will perform just as well as other name brands for about 1/3 of the cost. have already cut over 20ft of 3/8 plate steel with no issues.

Cons: wish torch cable was longer but unit is light enough to move closer to what you are cutting.

Other Thoughts: perfect unit if input power cord and torch cable were longer and if it came with some consumables.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Impressive for the $.

Pros: Very good low cost plasma cutter. Good out of the box. Came ready to use, 220v plug installed. Everything needed to set up and run was included. Air pressure regulator/dryer, hose clamps and bracket. Cuts really well. I tried it on 22, 20, 16 gauge steel,1/4" tempered steel and 3/16" aluminum. Excellent cuts right through paint and rust.

Cons: Minor complaint is the ground clamp. Clamps well on thicker material but the clamping pressure feels low on thinner material. But it works.

Other Thoughts: After multiple heat cycles it would not strike an arc. Turned out the heating and cooling cycles had loosened the consumable tip. I tightened it and the machine was back in tip top shape. Also, to save on consumables, once the cut it started on painted or rusty metal, you can disconnect the pilot arc. The fresh cut will provide a path to ground.
