3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does work as advertised and heats up our family room in about an hour.

Cons: This thing does NOT have a dual power setting as claimed by Lifesmart and others, switching at 77 degrees. I checked with a wattmeter and the power reading was a pretty constant 1385 watts, no matter what the temp setting.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and toasty

Pros: It seems to work very well, and does what it lists, it is pretty much a set and forget item, Very simple to operate and comes with a remote.

Cons: Noting so far has gave me a negative. The remote is a very small, but some would actually enjoy that, given it takes little room to store it. you will not need it much anyway.

Other Thoughts: Some have argued that it doesn't have two speeds, It does, but it operates these speeds as an automatic, when it starts it will operate high, then as the room is heated it goes to low to maintain the climate, like I said set and forget.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It does heat up and put out heat.

Cons: I don't think anyone at Newegg checked on this heater to see if what was advertised was the same thing as what is shipped.
There is no timer on this product which I really wanted so I could set it to turn on before I awoke in the morning AND the suggestion of dual modes is more of a gimmick as there are no buttons or nobs to change modes . . . what temperature you set the heater on determines what mode it is, or so it seems as the directions/manual are hard to interpret . . . this is the only time I, or friends, have bought something thru Newegg and felt like the product was totally misrepresented.
I learned a $141.00 lesson the hard way, it seems.

Other Thoughts: I'd suggest that Newegg actually test products to see if what is advertised is factual . . . this product makes Newegg complicit by assuming the product is what is advertised with out verifying.

4 out of 5 eggsQuartz Heater

Pros: Quiet, nice heat distribution, efficient.

Cons: No timer on this model level

Other Thoughts: Nice heater that does a great job and balancing out the heat on my main floor. I have a 1000 sq feet open main floor plan (kitchen, dinning living). I have a therostat on one end and a thermometer on the other and the room balances out within 1 degree to what I set the heater to. I bought it because I have never wanted to pay $300 plus for an Eden Pure. This works jsut as well but I wish in hindsight I had spent extra for the next model line with programmable features.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks good

Pros: I have a small(er) house than most, but it does great even when temp setting is turned down low. Relatively quiet and, of course, "cool to the touch!!!" as all the commercials say.... (#cheesy).

All in all, it has run fine. Nothing unexpected since opened.

Cons: No High-Low settings. Just an ambient temperature reading. Would have been nice to have both, but this isn't a perfect world.

Other Thoughts: Haven't seen the electric bill yet to see how well it will offset the gas bill. Currently living in Michigan, so I need to get this figured out fast before the snow comes!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does not get hot on the outside. This is great since I work from home and have my son home with me during the day.

Cons: There is only one setting on it-1500 watts. I thought I read there were two settings.

Other Thoughts: I use this in the Florida room of our house, which I converted into my home office. It works great, especially for someone who is eternally cold!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This heater works as advertised. Warms up my living room and kitchen quite fast (about 2000 sq/ft) and keeps the temperature stable. Quiet operation and safe to have kids and pets around since the heat outlet doesn't get hot enough to burn anyone.

Cons: none yet. see Other thoughts

Other Thoughts: You really do need an electrical circuit that is either dedicated, or with very few other appliances running to avoid overloading and tripping the breaker.
