Pros: Quiet at settings one and two.

Cons: Too loud at setting 3 and above. It struggles to even get about 40% in my 1000 sq ft apartment. The filter has needed changed twice already ans I've only had it 2mo.

Pros: Humidifies better than ultrasonic ones (usually referred to as cold mist) and doesn't create white dust everywhere like them. Doesn't have the boiling noise as I read about the warm-mist ones. Fairly quiet at setting one.

Cons: The big fan has become slightly unbalanced, so it generates a low-frequency hum now due to vibrating. If I may fix it, great, if not, it may become bothersome. If you need to run it at its highest fan speed (which I doubt), it will be quite noisy.

Other Thoughts: We owned three different ultrasonic cold-mist humidifiers over the years, and although you can see the mist coming out of them, and this one is completely invisible (because this one distributes evaporated water, instead of pulverizing water droplets into air), this one raises the humidity better (measured by an independent device).
