Pros: great timer. I use it to turn my outside lights on and off with the sunrise and sunset. works great!

Pros: Easy installation. Relatively easy programming for a device which only has three buttons on it.

I have many of these scattered all over the house. They serve several functions:

1) Dusk to Dawn for exterior lights. As soon as the sun goes down, the lights turn on. This is programmed using latitude, not light sensors. So it's always accurate. Very useful for holiday lighting, too.

2) Dusk to late night for interior lights. When the sun goes down, the lights go on. And they turn off at around the time we go to bed. (Manual override available, of course.)

3) Vacation mode. Lights go on and off randomly in 15-minute increments between dusk and 10pm. I have had angry neighbors demand to know why we didn't respond to their knocking when we "were obviously home." ("We could see you turn on the lights. Why didn't you answer?")

Cons: 1) These only work with single-pole, single-throw switches. I have hallway lights which could use these switches. But it doesn't work that way.

2) It would be nice to have weekday/weekend programs. You can only choose between "every day" and "program each day individually."

Pros: Installation was a breeze, but make sure you have all three wires to connect this switch.
All instructions were clear on how to program the switch (using lat/long, DST on/off).
Now I have both my motion sensing back porch light and carriage lights automated (dusk to dawn).

Cons: None

Pros: This switch was very straightforward to install (note you need a neutral wire). The ease of navigating the menus is commendable considering it only has 3 buttons.

Not having to worry about changing the timer for the seasons is a real plus. Adjusting the timer to match your latitude and longitude is simple with the general guide included and it ensures that you should not have to touch it again if you don't want to.

Cons: The schedule programming could use some extra customization for week days vs weekends. It's either all days, no days, or only individual days. The reason this becomes an issue is you only get 7 different programs so you have to put in quite a bit of effort into programming each individual day if you want different profiles on weekdays / weekends.

Pros: Best Timer Ever…I have used several timers over the years of owning my home, however this is the very best one I have ever found. Easy to read, easy to set-up, love the solar programmable light switch, where you actually just set your latitude and longitude, and it knows when to turn on/off your lights. Works perfect for me. Easy to read, day or night with the lighted display. Perfect. Can't say enough nice things about this Timer!!! Thank you Honeywell!!!

Cons: I cannot find any cons to this timer...the very best!

Other Thoughts: I had a tech install mine, they won't charge much for this. Get quotes first to make sure.
