Pros: This card reader is really fast. It replaced a Kingston USB 3.0 card reader that had been replaced once on warranty, and it finely gave out and refused to see any card I put in it. So far the Verbatim card reader has met my expectations fully.
Since I keep all my pictures and video's on the media they were taken on, I'm always using the card reader to copy from the cards to the computer. We have both a Canon camera, and a Sony Video camcorder, the Reader gets a real workout. I have found that the cards slide into this new Verbatim reader much easier than the old Kingston too, and that is a real plus.

Cons: The only thing that I can say for a con, is that the cord could be a bit longer. The old Kingston had a wonderfully long cord, and on our system that is a plus. I haven't tried to use the Kingston cord on the Verbatim yet, but I might try that to see if it hurts the performance of the Verbatim reader. On the cable itself, the Verbatim cord has a much larger diameter than the Kingston's cable.

Other Thoughts: With the ease that it takes to insert a card, I'm thinking that this may prevent the bent contacts inside the reader after lots of use. Only time will tell, but so far I have had no problems at all.
