Barska AX12038 Biometric Wall Safe

The hardest safe to break into is the one that no one knows is there! This safe is for any home or business because it can easily be concealed behind pictures, mirrors or behind furniture. With the main body of the safe inside the wall the door allows it to sit flush against the wall, providing ultimate concealment. Never again will you have to go looking for your keys or have to try to remember the number combinations. A simple scan of your fingerprint is all you need to access your valuables within seconds. An emergency override key enables you to open the safe even without entering the combination. Two removable shelves allow you to organize valuable items such as medicines, jewelry and important documents. Perfect for at home or at the office where you want valuables to be hidden from sight.

Cons: A couple of times the electronics would not respond to button presses and the unit appeared to be dead. Resetting the unit cured the problem both times. The fingerprint reader is finicky. Be sure to record multiple fingers at multiple angles and positions to help with this. You can record up to 120 fingerprints, so no problem there. Because the fingerprint reader is so finicky, don't count on getting into the safe quickly. It is rare that I am able to get the safe to read my fingerprint successfully on the first try. It typically takes five to ten tries before the safe will open. Other Thoughts: Due to the weight of the safe, I placed vertical supporting 2x4s into the opening down to the base plate and another horizontal cross piece on top of them for the safe to sit on. This also makes it easier to install the safe since its sitting on a solid platform as you insert the side screws. One of the included batteries was dead and leaking. The fingerprint reader is finicky. Be sure to record multiple fingers at multiple angles and positions to help with this. You can record up to 120 fingerprints, so no problem there.
