David J. 4/2/2015 9:16:39 PM Ownership: 3/5	Rating: 1/5Cisco customer service reaching a new low This review is from: Cisco 867VAE Base Router with VDSL2/ADSL2+ over basic telephone service Pros: Features look good for a DSL modem combo, but I haven't been able to install it yet because of issues shown below Cons: Pre-sales suport is completely useless when they make up answers to questions: When I asked the Cisco rep. about the rack mount capability listed in the specifications, and whether this meant all the parts were included, or I would have to purchase a separate kit, he replied, and I have the chat script to prove it, "It just comes with the device itself". So When I tried to follow up on this issue when the rack mounting kit did not come with the unit, Cisco sent me off to someone who only wanted to know what my purchase order was, and had no concern about my actual question. After EIGHT attempts in email exchanges of my trying to explain that his request had nothing to do with my issue, he refused to read my comments, and we got nowhere. All Cisco had to do was admit their error and either take responsibility for what he said, or refuse to take responsibility, but still give me a part number for the rack mount kit. The have still refused to to either. Other Thoughts: There comes a threshold when egregious support for products outweigh even the best engineered equipment. Between incomplete documentation, and this, what would seem to be a very simple rack mounting issue, I wonder if Cisco is trying to find that threshold. Did you find this review helpful?
