4 out of 5 eggsMisconceptions

Pros: For a light weight Trimmer does a decent job, including edging.

Cons: As people mentioned there are battery issues.

Other Thoughts: I bought the Lithium Ion version. You will only get about 15-20 minutes of sustained use and it will charge in less than an hour with the quick charger. Worx is aware of the battery issues. Both my daughter and I were able to exchange the battery with little hassle even after a year. When I did it, you were directed to a webpage to provide info and I had a new battery in less than a week.

Do not know if this apples to the NCad batteries. The product itself is good. Again, I ordered a new one through Newegg's biggest competitor. Check the reviews.

5 out of 5 eggsNo more electrical cords

Pros: I used a 100-ft extension cord for years for my previous trimmer, and now with a cordless, I wouldn't have anything else. All similar brands use the button on the bottom to feed new line. The auto-feed just doesn't work after a few uses, so I'm glad to see a new way to feed new line when needed.

Cons: I get about 30 minutes on the battery which is enough to trim a small, grassy bank and all of my sidewalks and patio. If you have more than 30 minutes of work, you may need a new battery. That said, it works as good at 30 minutes as it does when the battery is fully charged. It slows down after that point.

Other Thoughts: Most of these weed trimmers seem to be manufactured at the same place or at least they are near copies of each other. This one is exactly like the Ryobi. I bought this from another company at the first of the season, but I'm an 8 yr Newegg customer.

1 out of 5 eggsNi-Cad Battery (1985 Technology)

Pros: Light weight

Cons: NI-CAD Batteries

Looooong charge times (hours)

Fifteen mins to discharge

Other Thoughts: I bought this by mistake and it took all day to charge and 15mins to discharge.

I ended up buying the same one, but lithium ion batteries, the lithium charged in 15mins and lasted almost an hour.

Don't buy this one, buy the lithium battery one of the same brand.

1 out of 5 eggsGood trimmer, junk battery

Pros: Surprisingly good trimmer for a lightweight cordless with such a small cutting circle - there were few places in my yard it couldn't handle and it was much more convenient to pick up and turn on than to get out my 4-cycle gas-powered trimmer.

Cons: Battery kills the whole deal. I didn't use it much the first year I had it, so the warranty had run out when I started recharging the battery frequently. I got maybe 25-30 charges before it stopped charging at all - I hadn't even run out of the first 10-ft. spool of line. With a new battery priced at $70-80, the Worx went into the trash and I bought a more reliable brand.

Other Thoughts: Whoever's selling these apparently thinks they're onto a good scam. Not so - the word is getting out on a number of message boards and blogs.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Pros: Zero

Cons: The edge trimmer does not cut deep enuf to trim. You have to use it like a weed eater to trim. In other words, edge trimmer is useless.
Does not have a real auto line feeder. You have to stop this thing every 4 to 6 feet, turn it upside down and press a button on the bottom to feed the line 1 inch at a time. This is almost embarrassing.
Just did finish getting both sides of my 40 ft. sidewalk done, before my battery started getting weak. The side walk took 20 minutes. I came in, put the battery in the charger and the light stays green, meaning the battery is fully charged.

Other Thoughts: This thing came used. Don't know if Newegg sent it, or it came from Worx like this.
Top one foot of the packing was missing and the battery was just laid in there, bouncing all around. Was almost beat to death, but still works. Shaft and base was scared and line was twisted.
This thing cost $71. If you want an extra battery, it cost $70
