4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: Excellent for audio books, pretty good for music.Battery last a long time, pretty good build build quality.Line in,Line out.Standard usb charger, phone charger works perfect.

Cons: When you switch it on there is a screeching beep that is as loud as the last volume you had been listening with.I 'm not sure sure what the screech is because it makes the screech sound, then the bloop bluetooth sound, then when you pair it it does the screeching sound again.
Not great for movies when hooked to my laptop, there is a delay from the video being played and the audio.
Music at top volume, meaning top volume on the brick and phone, gets a little distorted.I've found if i turn the brick all the way up then 2 notches back down I can turn the phone up as loud as I want with no distortion.

Other Thoughts: The audio delay could be the bluetooth hardware in my laptop, not sure if said hardware is over bluetooth 2.0.
If not for the a/v delay with movies, the music at top volume, and the loud screeching beep i would have given it a solid five.
Overall the build and general sound quality, coupled with a pretty long battery life.I would say it was a pretty good deal for the $35 I paid for it while it was one sale.

4 out of 5 eggsNice little box

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: I really like this little speaker. Plenty loud for my use. I connect via bluetooth to my Blackberry Playbook. No issues. Beeps when it is turned on and beeps again when bluetooth connects. Some think this is a con but I don't mind. It lets me know audibly that it is working. Charge lasts a long time. I have never had it shut down but I will charge it if I have used it all day.

Cons: Continuing flashing bluetooth LED. But I don't sit and stare at that anyways. :)

4 out of 5 eggsSoundbrick FTW

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: Very easy to connect. Best feature for me is the fact that it has a 3.5mm output jack which allows you to use this little soundbrick as a Bluetooth adapter for anything that has an audio input. This is now hooked up to my Bose sound system and I can use my phone or any Bluetooth device to my Bose sound system.

Next is the battery life. I have charged this fully and it had been used every morning for almost 2 weeks now as a wireless Bluetooth adapter and it's still going strong. Amazing battery life.

Cons: I took 1 star off because of 2 issues I don't really like.
First I wish it would have an auto shut-off if not in use fora certain time limit. It just stays on all day with a very bright blue blinking light waiting for a Bluetooth device.
Second is the max volume is not really very loud. Wish it could just go up just like 2 or 3 more clicks, and it does the same thing while connected to any speaker setup. It's loud enough for a bedroom but not for a party or to get turnt up.

Other Thoughts: 4 stars. It's a great little box. Easy setup and sounds real nice. Can be used as a Bluetooth adapter. Loooooooong battery life. Very portable. Great price.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid, well built box

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: Looks good, well built, solid mini sound box, paid $30 for it, couldn't get any better sound for this price, battery last insanely long time, over 8 horas.

Cons: The only thing I noticed is that each time that my phone goes out of range for a while and come back within it I have to set the phone up again for bluetooth (to listen music and not for speeker phone function)

Other Thoughts: Honestly I'm amazed it's battery life. For 30$ I'm really pleased with the quality of this soundbrick

5 out of 5 eggsawesome

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: Super easy to pair device. Loud and crisp sound using Galaxy S5.

Cons: Streaming iheart radio sometimes buffer - probably wifi range is issue not speaker.

Other Thoughts: $30 was awesome deal.

5 out of 5 eggsFun Stuff

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: Clarity is great! For the size portability I would recommend for a jobsite to just relaxing in the pool. Great for travel in the car too. Bluetooth is responsive with very little breakup in the music when you get further away. Shuts down music when a call or text comes in. Great Battery life.

Cons: I need and MP3 player with 80 hours battery life.

Other Thoughts: I bought this originally for the car. After I started using it, this product became a functional daily use from the car, to the pool, to working around the house to plugging into my projector so I can watch movies outside.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: -I got it on sale so this cheep speaker was even cheeper.
-It has good range; I can play it off my laptop across an open room or through the wall into my bathroom
-It's decently loud. It's not amazing and wont drown anything out but, I can hear it clearly over my shower, over cooler fans at work, and at social gatherings it can't be all the way up if talking is going to be easy.
-Awesomly it works when the power is plugged in and it has an AUX in so if you run into a situation where bluetooth would burn too much battery or someone has an older ipod, you can just plug it in.
-Sound quality is nice. Way louder and better then the speakers on my Macbook pro and obviously better then my phones speakers. Honestly the sound is better then $10 desktop speakers. It seems to favor a basey sound which could be a prow or a con depending on your feelings.
-Battery lasts a good while. I've never killed it in a single sitting. Played it non-stop at a party for 4-6 hours and it still had battery remaining. Not exactly sure on the time but I would guess its around 8hrs battery life with the bluetooth. Probably longer if you used the aux in because bluetooth is a battery hog.

Cons: -As before, it's kinda basey. Its still way better then my laptop speakers but when watching movies I wish the pitch was slightly different.
-Things can always be louder. It puts out as much sound as I expected for the price, size, and being battery operated but a guy can always wish for more, right?
-It vibrates a lot on base beats. I mean, to put out decent base, which it does for what it is, it has to move a bit. If you put it on a flimsy table or something that vibrates, its-self, it can be kinda annoying. I put it on a wire rack once and it was comical.

Other Thoughts: Totally worth the price. If you play music on your phone, ever, or would like to, then you should get this device. I imagine the bigger name devices like this put out better/louder sound but honestly this device is great. It's cheep enough that I just keep it with me. Inside of a week of having it, it greatly improved the setting for 3 different parties, made showering more enjoyable, and allowed me to hear shows on my laptop when I'm cooking things that are louder like bacon, or really anything that sizzles.

And, at this price point I'm happy to keep it on me at all times because if it got lost, stolen, or if I broke it I wouldn't be heart broken. Totally replaceable.

3 out of 5 eggsUnderwhelmed

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: Casing is sturdy, ability to charge via USB instead of wall charger, and size.

Cons: Sound, BT Connection

Other Thoughts: I have a JBL cylinder that I got with my phone that has great bass, treble, and mids. I can walk at least 50 feet away from it and let my music stream. Got this on sale at a reasonable price of $30 something. Figured I was getting a deal as it was $78 retail. Not the case, you get what you pay for. The BT connectivity is spotty even with the phone streaming 2 meters away. The bass is not existent with a tin like sound. Next purchase Jawbone, JBL, or Bose.

3 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Urge Basics Soundbrick Bluetooth Stereo Speaker with Built-in Mic

Pros: Battery life is decent

Volume - gets fairly loud for a small speaker

Construction - Solid feel

Multimedia controls - Play/pause button works with my older Galaxy S3 as well as hooked up to a PC

Connection - Strong connection to both my laptop and desktop, even the next room over. No funny typing in pairing codes, either.

Cons: Mediocre sound quality - Not as bad as the speaker built into my S3, but it's still shaky. Even though it's loud, it still has that slightly tinny, stressed sound you get with small speakers, even at lower volumes. With a wired connection, it isn't much better.

High pitched beep/whine when working with bluetooth. Not when something is playing, but when it first turns on, when it first connects over bluetooth, and when the other bluetooth device disconnects.

No battery meter

Other Thoughts: It's OK for calls, but for something with a normal price of $80 and advertised as having "superior sound", I was really expecting something that sounded better than the speakers on a cheap laptop. That may be what you're looking for, I'm just happy I got them on sale and planned just to use them as background noise.
