3 out of 5 eggsMixed emotions about it

Pros: -The microphone unit itself is very well built. I read a review that stated that the glossy finish makes it look like a toy. That might be true, but I personally like the finish.
-The recording quality is very good. It has very good noise reduction for a microphone under $50.00 ($49.99 purchase price)

Cons: -The tripod that came with it is PLASTIC. And there is nothing "sturdy" about it. Not the kind of quality I would expect from a "professional" desktop mic. In fact, the threads started to wear off a bit as I was trying to screw the tripod into the microphone. But that's not all. It was going in crooked. Thinking it was me, I gave it to a coworker, who had a older model (which was way better, by the way) and he was struggling screwing it right. It took me a long while and several attempts to get it in right. Needless to say, I won't be messing with it very much. The legs themselves look like they are about to break any time soon. In fact, I am sure it would not survive a drop test from my desk if it lands upright. The mic is very heavy and the tripod too flimsy. I am sure that I can snap the legs off with little effort if I wanted to. To say the tripod looks like a cheap toy, it is a HUGE understatement

Other Thoughts: If you are going to use in an office where no kids or pets are allowed, you should be fine. If you let your dog or cat jump on your desk and roam around your office, you will have a functional mic with no tripod before you know it.

The cheap tripod is a huge turn-off for me; which is why I gave it 3-stars. Someone left a review about the mic's three settings. I am sure that is a better model. This doesn't have the 3-setting switch in the back. My coworker has that model, and his also have a metallic tripod. That was the one I wanted to get. I made the mistake of not reading carefully the specs and the reviews. One reviewer mentioned the issue with the tripod. I would've bought the next best model should I've known that.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Mic - Works in Linux Mint (Ubuntu)

Pros: Ordered this mic to work w/ my Linux Mint workstation. Plugged in via USB, the OS found it, and off I went. No troubles so far, all my Linux applications recognize it, and the microphone works great. I have had several people mention that the clarity of my voice has improved a lot, so a definite upgrade from the headset I was using.

Cons: The tripod could be a little wider for those of us w/ feline visitors to the surface of the desk. Would make it harder for the cat to knock over....

5 out of 5 eggsBest mic under 50?

Pros: Good quality both near and far, basic and easy to install, easy to use and easy setup.

The stand it comes with, while a little short, it is sturdy, nice, and holds the mic well. I will probably get a larger stand to accommodate it in the future.

It seems to collect audio clearly and well, while not hearing so much of an echo, or random sound from my previous mic. The sound seems more soft/bass when listening back to audio.

The mic is heavy, and adjustable, and it holds position well when altered.

Cons: While the red LED light is nice... its always on, even when PC is powered off, small trivial thing, but its bright, and i am not a fan of this.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this if you want a decent quality microphone for under 50 bucks, unless its price has changed again, When I picked it up it was in the low 40's I think.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap feeling stand

Pros: Pros:
-Blue Snowball iCE microphone has great sound quality for one person. I personally use my Snowball iCE for twitch streaming and have found that setting the microphone near my mouth is the best way to get great sound.
-I did not need to download any drivers for this microphone to work. It works with every application I have used.

Cons: Cons:
-The Snowball iCE has a very cheap stand that when twisted into the microphone makes an awful screeching noise like nails on a chalkboard. The legs on the stand feel like they will snap at any moment. There is no height adjustment at all.
-The glossy finish on this microphone makes it look like a toy.
-Microphone picks up any vibrations through a desk or even from me walking away from my desk.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great microphone for a budget. I would recommend buying the normal Blue Snowball and not the ice because of the better stand and different microphone settings on the back of it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mic!

Pros: I love this mic and recommend this to any person who need to very studio grade mic for the money. The mic survives a million falls with no scratches and the mic has never given me any problems. And hell, you can play snow ball with it and it still works.

(Very great mic and would buy it again if I need to)

Cons: NONE!!!

Other Thoughts: Amazing and great mic.
