Air Horn, NOT!
This review is from: Spyder Auto 125db Air Horn - Blue
Pros: It is a very loud horn (I only installed one of the included, matching pair). I was able to re-use my stock (99 Toyota Solara) horn mounting hole/location & bolt. I didn't have to modify the wire connector. I can't remember if it was necessary, but I ran a short (ground) wire from the 2nd horn terminal to the mounting bolt. I think the ground wire was needed, but not sure. Great price for 2 loud horns (on sale when purchased).
Cons: With only one horn installed (I seriously doubt that having the 2nd one installed would change anything) it sounds like a generic, but very loud, import car horn. This (single installed) unit does not sound like an "air horn reproduced", or any air horn that I've heard or owned. No instructions included (about grounding 2nd terminal or anything). Try it w/o a ground wire from 2nd terminal, if it won't work, add the (home made) ground wire (my stock horn only has one terminal & is internally grounded, when mounted).
Other Thoughts: If you want the sound of air horns, buy real air horns! If you just want a loud, & slightly deep/low import sounding horn, this will do... The sound output is somewhat lower pitched than my stock horn (makes it sound like a bigger car???). This unit is heavier & bigger around than my stock Toyota horn. I'm a little concerned that it may eventually come loose (or bend the thin-metal at the mounting location) and hit the radiator. Need to keep an eye on this. In over a month, no problems so far. I drive hard, so this is a good thing!
