I REALLY regret this.
Pros: Good construction; feels solid. USB 3.0 speeds were nice and fast, only very slightly slower than a direct connection -- when it worked, that is. (More on that below.)
Cons: Dropped connections. A drive plugged in would get suddenly dropped within a few minutes. This happened on multiple ports and with every drive I could test with.
Other Thoughts: I wanted to give it two eggs. But in the end I just had to give it one. Vaporized data is no trivial matter.

Orico 4 Port USB 3.0 Powered Hub
Pros: Good build quality. Power wart has sufficient amperage to handle the four ports and the cable is not thin and spindly. The included USB 3.0 Hub to Computer connection cable is very hefty and well insulated. Control chipset is made by Etron which is the same chipset my motherboard uses for USB 3.0.
Cons: My one little complaint is that all the outgoing device ports should have been on one side, not one on an end, and three on a side. I realize this may help make the unit more compact so I won't dock eggs for that, just stating my preference.
Other Thoughts: After hooking up this unit and running speed tests using my external USB 3.0 hard drives, and USB 3.0 flash drives, I can honestly say that there was not a speed drop going through the hub at all. I had already used ATTO benchmark software to check all my drives, and the testing going through the Orico hub proved that that hub would not be a bottleneck at all. The hub is very well built of quality components, and I expect nothing less of Orico. I have used their add on cards in the past adding USB 3.0/eSATA ports to PC's, and they work great. Some of their pricing puts them a little above what other companies charge, but the difference in quality is what I look at. Customer support is good as one of their reps contacted me after I ordered and replied within minutes to my emails. Don't be afraid of the Orico name brand, they have quality stuff. I will definitely consider their other products in my builds, and reccommend this hub to anybody that needs one.
