5 out of 5 eggsNice product, works as expected

Pros: small, comes with power adapter if needed, inputs on three faces.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: can find cheaper self-powered hubs, but this one, while a little more can do both powered or self powered. Good value

1 out of 5 eggsLeaking DC on Input Port

Pros: It works fine without the power adapter.

Cons: Leaking 5V DC through the input port.

Other Thoughts: This USB hub is leaking 5V DC back through the input port when the included power adapter is connected. USB specifications explicitly forbid that and it can have seriously ramifications on certain motherboards like the brand new Asus X99-A.

It started out with the machine refusing to power on (no fans, lights or anything) whenever the hub was connected and ended up with frying the USB ports and forcing a RMA of the motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsSad Product

Pros: Light turns on sometimes recognizes things plugged in and sometimes drops them

Cons: I have had a 7port and this 4 port for a while now. I have tried everything to get them to be consistently recognize the external drives plugged in and they drop off with no reason.

Other Thoughts: I have other brands of 3.0 hubs with no problems. these HooToo hubs are junk don't buy them

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Its actually really good and you should buy it, lots of USB 3.0 and it sits right next to my monitor with my gamepad, keyboard, flashdrive and webcam all plugged into it.
I was skeptical about the name, and the box had some grammar issues but the product is good.

Power adapter for when you have lots of power hungry devices!

Glowing blue logo if your setup is blue based.

Little numbered light tells you if the port is working or not when you plug something in.

Looks sleek and feels durable.

Buy this one. Ive had it just over a year and it hasnt shown any signs of wear.

Cons: The only reason I dock an egg is because when I turn on from sleep, or even from off, it doesnt refresh whats connected to it so they stay off and I've had to unplug it and re plug it in (might just be a Windows fault, not sure yet). It works great otherwise.

Other Thoughts: I recommend buying the 10x usb one, and just have all your peripherals run through a hub on the desk (with power adapter of course) and boom it becomes trouble shoot heaven if something goes wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: It actually fixed a problem I was having with my laptop and an external hard drive. Previously it would disconnect several times per minute (suspected power issue), but with the hub and the AC adapter plugged in it works great.

Says it won't work with standalone chargers, but it charges my G930 headset which does use a standalone charger. (in the documentation it specifically references apple products, and I have none of those to test, so I can't say about those)

Charges and connects to my Samsung for G3.

Stuff that doesn't matter: Great packaging and documentation, solid aluminum case, bright LEDs, thick cables. Small, perfect size.

Cons: Will cause wireless devices immediately next to the port it is plugged into to cease working properly, as noted in the documentation. My G930 headset dongle wouldn't connect because it was in the port right next to it. I moved it one port away and it works again, not a big deal, but something to be aware of.

Short cable, doesn't completely wrap around my laptop, which isn't a huge issue, still works. I would like to have it plugged in on one side and sit on the other side, and it does, but it doesn't come as far forward as I'd like. An extra foot would be perfect.

Other Thoughts: Running Linux Mint 17 64bit.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked fine then not at all

Pros: It worked fine when it worked.

Cons: I reinstalled Mac OS and it stopped working completely but drives plugged into same ports worked just fine. This had worked fine when I first got it, for 3-4 months.

Other Thoughts: I got it replaced by Hootoo, they were very good about it and sent a new one fast, so three stars for that. However, the second one does same as the first. Nothing at all. If I unplug the power to the hub, and replug it, I immediately get error that it's trying to pull too much power and it was disabled by the OS.

So, it doesn't work at all for me now, neither the old or new one. Cannot recommend for Mac OS if it's going to do this nonsense.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate to last review

Pros: Small, heavy so it doesn't move around. Has it's own power supply.

Cons: More ports would be nice :-)

Other Thoughts: The first one I purchased was DOA. The replacement worked like a charm. I'm giving 5 eggs to offset my 1 egg review from the first one. Due to the DOA I'd give it a 4 overall.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work

Pros: Small, heavy so it won't easily move around on your desk

Cons: Just didn't work. Tried it on both my Desktop's USB 3 ports and my Laptop's USB 3 ports to no avail. It would light up when plugged into the port, but no device connected through the hub would show up. USB 3 devices work fine and at full speed when connected into the same ports I used for this hub.

Other Thoughts: I can only assume based on the other reviews that I got a bad hub. DOA.

5 out of 5 eggsGood 3.0 Hub

Pros: Low power device.
This Hub is plugged into a HP Ultra Book, 3.0 port.
It has 2 SSD drives plugged into 2 of the hub's ports.

The Hub and the SSD USB 3.0 to SATA adapters, plus the SSD drives are all being self powered by the USB 3.0 port without any power adapter.

Excellent product.

Comes with a power supply if you should need it.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: x

5 out of 5 eggsimpressive

Pros: Great build quality. Great cables. Clear instruction manual. Looks good, feels good.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Just make sure you use the power supply it comes with if you're going to add 4 HD's to it. Even though the cable has two USB connectors to draw power from 2 ports, depending on your drives, you'll probably need the power cable to keep them going like I did. More a limitation of my laptop's power output on the USB ports than anything.
