1 out of 5 eggsDied Post Haste

Pros: Easy to install. Just plug in and Windows 7 says there it is ready to use.

Cons: The one I got stopped working after just 3 days. I uninstalled it then reinstalled it but my computer just kept telling me the device could not start. I tried downloading other drivers (though, initially, no downloads were necessary. Still no go. At least, it kept charging my phone.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems to do its job

Pros: Tried it with several USB 3.0 devices, seems to work well.

Cons: Supplied cable is way too short.

Other Thoughts: To the guy complaining about the "proprietary" connector: That's not a proprietary connector, that's a standard USB 3.0 micro B. USB 3.0 requires extra wires, and there isn't room for the extra contacts inside a USB 2.0 micro B connector.

If you look inside the larger plug at the other end of the cable, you will also see 5 extra contacts further down inside the plug.

You can use a standard USB 2.0 micro B cable if you want, but then the hub will only run at USB 2.0 speeds.

4 out of 5 eggsWould be 5 stars with a reasonable length cable

Pros: USB 3 speeds.
Able to power External Hard Drives.
Charging Port.
4 Ports.
Reasonably Small Footprint.
Sturdy construction.

Contrary to one reviewers comments, it does use a standard cable. It's obvious that James M. is overstating his Tech Knowledge as it is a standard USB 3.0 Micro B Cable that anyone with his "supposed" tech level would know. I used the Coboc CY-U3-AMicBMM-6-BK 6 ft. USB 3.0 A Male to Micro B Male Cable M-M item number N82E16812422985 purchased from Newegg for under $5 shipped that worked perfectly. That same cable fits all of my Western Digital USB 3.0 External Hard Drives so I have no idea what James' problem is.

Cons: The supplied 18" cable is way too short to be of any use, but I knew that when I ordered it. It simply isn't long enough to plug into a case and reach the desk. I connected mine with a 6 foot USB 3.0 Micro B cable and it works perfectly. See above Pros for specifics on that cable.

Other Thoughts: I will be ordering a couple more of these for other computers shortly. I've had this one for 2 months and used it enough to know that it will get the job done for me.

4 out of 5 eggsRequires a USB 3.0 micro-B cable

Pros: Small, attractive design, 2A charging port.

Cons: lightweight(pro?), so it does not stay still, needs to be secured with tape or velcro. Ordered with a 10' supply cable, unfortunately the cable had a standard size USB 3.0 "B" connector and I had to reorder to get a USB 3.0 micro-B. I was just careless when I ordered.

Other Thoughts: There are no proprietary cables required here. USB 3.0 requires 10 pins, so micro connectors need more space and are extended. The full size "A" connector may look the same, but the full size "B" connector is extended as well. Look them up before you complain and mislead others.

1 out of 5 eggsMisleading

Pros: None

Cons: Dose not mention that the end plugging into the hub is a proprietary end and that if you want anything other than the stubby 18" cable that comes with it you must buy an additional cable. Returning A.S.A.P.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy plug and play

Pros: Externally powered (or usb powered)

Easy to install,
Enough power to run( 2) 1TB external hard drives and (1) 3TB external hard drive plus (1) 32 GB flash drive

Cons: Only 4 ports, other than that it is actually a great hub
Short usb cable it could be about a foot longer

Other Thoughts: it is a usb 3.0 Hub with Ipod/Ipad(or any tablet, kindle fire, android ect.) charging. for around $25 it is a good deal
