5 out of 5 eggsOnly Spectacular

Pros: Huge, Fast enough for 99% of the population to game on without noticing, stand is super solid, comes with displayport cable

Cons: Huge, the box is hard to fit into your car. Requires a beefy GPU to run pretty much any game made in the last 5 years. Way too bright on stock settings, but who runs factory settings anyways

Other Thoughts: This really is an amazing monitor, I traded up to this from my 144hz asus monitor and yes my epeen is much smaller with only 60hz but I realized >60hz is really not something outside of a group of pro counterstrike people can even notice.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful

Pros: Praise (seems I cant put in G o D lol ..prayed I would get a nice one and G o D answered :) 1st one had a ..dust or something in the back that when you tapped the screen it moved. 2nd one (thank you NEWEGG 1day shipping. Newegg always takes care of you..just ask) is perfect. Granted paid $779. If you were playing games.. it can (mine did) Nvidia custom refresh rate 85.. 89..nothing. The same on both.

Cons: Not really a con but VA is not IPS. Can have a tad color shift. Since VA is IPS and TN yet VA is so much better then it use to be. Deeper blacks better contrast.. and NO.. NONE.. black like bleed. No IPS glow which you will get see more on a 34" monitor.

Seems they Samsung send these out with brightness 100%.. so you need to fix all that.

Other Thoughts: I am very happy. For this price IPS or VA .. I NEVER settle for ANY black like bleed. I am no expert but I think this monitor is with what I paid for it :)

4 out of 5 eggsImmersive gaming and working

Pros: - Amazing quality and colors (after calibration)
- Massive screen space with annoyance of two monitors
- No blacklight bleed, and deep blacks
- Jaw dropping good looks

Cons: - AdobeRGB spectrum does not have the best coverage
- Price
- Connections

Other Thoughts: I was looking into getting an IPS WQHD monitor for a while but with the industry seeming unable to make a ultrawide ips monitor that does not have noticeable amounts of blacklight bleed I stayed away. Then I found this beauty. I was first concerned with it being a VA panel. However, Samsung has been heavily invested in the tech and has managed to get this monitor to where (after calibration) its able to hit 100% sRGB values making this VA panel good for content creators. Not to mention with it being a VA panel it has some of the darkest blacks outside an OLED i have ever seen.

With what it beings to the stage I understand why its worth more than Dell or LG's products, however $1k is still to much for a monitor in my books. I was lucky and got this on a holiday sale from newegg for only $700 which I find to be a very fair price for the monitor.

Only issue I really have with the monitor is the connectors. HDMI can't support this resolution at 60hz and has to fall back to 50hz, at 50hz any gaming or fast movies can end up causing a eyestrain and headaches. Using the displayport fixes this. However, I would have much rather seen 2 displayports and 1 hdmi or 2 and 2. This monitor would have been perfect if they would have put the connectors on this like the Dell ultrawide has.

Also I'm very pleased with the speakers in this system. They have a very good sound, although I'm no audiophile so it might not meet standards for all.

5 out of 5 eggsPhenomenal monitor. Replaced my 3-monitor setup

Pros: - Excellent image quality
- Excellent black
- Great color reproduction after calibration
- Very nice looking
- Great port selection and layout at back
- Intuitive menu controls

Cons: - Expensive
- The stand is a bit bulky but overall elegant looking

Other Thoughts: This is an amazing productivity monitor. It is a decent gaming monitor. It replaced my 3-monitor setup and I will never go back. Amazing monitor overall. Worth every penny. Will buy again.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, sharp, bright

Pros: Sharp. Bright. Definitely good for work! Can multitask with many windows on screen. Can live without the curve. Can't live without the size and 3440x1440 resolution now.

Gaming on it is kinda difficult as most games takes a performance hit at this resolution on my video card. I am using the XFX 290.

Cons: The curve is kinda unnecessary unless you sit really close to the monitor? Basically, for the time that I have owned this monitor, I can live without the curve. Probably money better spent on a higher refresh rate monitor? This is only 50Hz through HDMI. I am using DisplayPort, so I get the full 60Hz.

3 out of 5 eggsexcellent display with 1 small problem

Pros: nice monitor
good speakers
not much else to say

Cons: the bezel has arrived with a small scratch, which can only be noticed in specific light but it is quite annoying to have a new item appear to be used

4 out of 5 eggsSamsung S34 two month review

Pros: Curve is nice to have

Resolution

Sound is good. I dont have speakers, I just use inbuilt speakers in the monitor and headphones when I watch movie or while gaming.

Great for gaming. But make sure the game that you play supports this resolution or you will end up with black bars on the side.

Cons: Not as big as I expected. I have a Asus PB32 inch monitor which is great monitor btw, and it is more than two inches taller than this monitor at almost half the cost.

Other Thoughts: Curve is nice to have but after a few hours I stopped noticing it and when I watch the other non curved monitor sitting next to this one the lack of curve is noticeable but is it worth the money? I personally done think it is.

When I was in market for a monitor, people kept saying the immersive experience is worth the extra money paid for the curve but I feel instead of buying one curved monitor, two flat ones would serve better.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Display

Pros: Been working with the display for 3 months and love it. Great picture quality all around. The ultra wide resolution is a perfect fit for me. Great for movies and games.

Cons: None as of yet.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Huge Screen. Multitasking made easy. I didn't know what I was missing until this monitor with games. Height and tilt with the stand is better then expected.

Cons: It is brighter then I would like. This washed out many colors (Keep it at 30).

Other Thoughts: You will forget about the curve...just blends.

As expected many things do not get along with 21:9 and you will have black bars on the sides.

Comes with cables (HDMI, Display Port, and USB 3.0)

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate to review I gave 4/29/2015.

Pros: Nothing new from last review.

Cons: - Starting to get dead pixels appearing on screen.
- VA panel blur, really starting to get to me.

Other Thoughts: Now that I've had more time with the monitor, I have some updates to report. While not noticing any new positives, I am starting to see pixels die right before my eyes.

Also, I upgraded to a new Skylake rig with a ASUS nVidia 980 Ti Strix card. While the monitor can respond to the higher level of pixels pushed to it, the VA panel blue is really starting to show in games, with blurry edges, smudged textures and overall a pretty pathetic visual quality compared to IPA panels.

While this monitor started out on a high, it's really starting to get me in the dumps with all these issues surrounding the use of a VA panel. Samsung needs to upgrade the model to a fast response IPA panel, or do something to improve the sharpness of its display.

Samsung used to mean excellent quality, I'm not so sure these days!
