Great bang for your buck
Pros: HDMI port on front, 3 others in the rear. Allows me to connect my laptop or camcorder with ease. Sets up easily.
Cons: Would like to have seen banana plugs also... although it is easy to setup, a little better manual would have been nice
Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great choice for those on a budget. More features than the yamaha or other big name brands. You cannot look at this receiver as a low end - the components are awesome and the sound is great. Simple to pick what you want to do : TV, DVD, BLU-RAY, Game..love this buy.

Pros: "Five 75-watt channels are powered by its own discrete circuit. This allows the receiver to reproduce original sound more faithfully than conventional models, which use integrated circuits." I really think this makes a huge difference in sound quality. Also the DAC sounds amazing with PCM audio. Also this receiver has the option to set the crossover freq for each of the 6 channels enabeling you to get the most performance out of each speaker.
Cons: The only thing I would change about this reciever are the spring clips. Banana plugs would be so much nicer. You have to go up to the 1613 to get those.
Other Thoughts: Other receivers offer more in terms of extra features at this price piont making this receiver seem basic in comparison. But what it lacks in things like 4K pass through, and microphone, it makes up for it by having top quality inner components, and terrific sound. My 1513 is paired up with Polk Monitor 30's, and the CS1 center, and a Polk Sub. And just to hammer on the sound quality one more time. I'm able to but the 1513's DAC up against my Creative X-Fi HD sound card's DAC, in 2.1 Stereo using the same Amp and Speakers. It's quite obviouse, the sound from the 1513's DAC is much more full on all levels, Lows, Mids, and Highs.
