5 out of 5 eggsDenon 1913 Great Receiver

Pros: The setup is very simple that even an aging baby boomer could hook it up with relative ease. This unit replaced an aging Sony unit which had one hdmi in and one hdmi out. I thought it was great having 6 hdmi inputs (5 on back 1 on front), and they are all being used. Denon makes available an owners manual online but if you decide to print it make sure you have sufficient ink and paper in your printer because it is 150 pages. I printed it and glad I did because I have used it on numerous times. I really like the network capabilities as well as Apple's Airplay function. I haven't pushed this unit too much due to having some old Klipsch Quintet speakers but I am about to due to just purchasing two of the Klipsch F-30s which haven't arrived but are due tomorrow. One last thing...the Audyssey setup for the speakers was easy to do and can be done without the manual, but I really liked the specific explanation contained in the manual for this procedure. This unit looks great, is easy to use, and sounds great.

Cons: I really don't have any cons but if there is one thing I would change is the IPOD/USB slot on the front face. I think it detracts from the overall appearance of the unit with having an IPOD plug hanging down from the front of the receiver. I understand it was placed there for ease of use but I feel it would have been better served, appearance wise, to have put it on the back out of sight.

Other Thoughts: Overall I think this is a great receiver and if given the opportunity to, I would purchase it again.

5 out of 5 eggsI Love Denon

Pros: The IP Control is fantastic. I've been in the AV industry for years and controlability plays a large role in my daily life. The control protocol for Denon's receivers is awesome! The same goes for their documentation.

I've got this hooked up to my JBL ceiling speakers and subwoofer and it sounds great too.

All of the network extras work perfect too (after a simple firmware upgrade.) Pandora streams beautifully, the Media Center functionality communicates with my Windows 7 PC perfectly, and the iPod streaming through the USB port in the front is awesome.

I could not be happier with this purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsOne that works

Pros: After going thru 4 other receivers (Panasonic, 2 Onkyo, and Yamaha) all having HDMI switching or screen drop out issues this one works quite well. Not one problem after 1 month . Onscreen programming works well. Really enjoy the internet radio more than I thought I would. The remote is simple, easy to use to almost to a fault as I'll explain in cons. Has good sound quality as well.

Cons: I do wish it had 2 subwoofer outs. The remote while being simple and easy to use has one big fault. Has only 3 favorite station buttons, seeing how there is a huge amount of internet stations available, more would have been nice. It definitely has the space for it, could easily have 9 buttons.

Other Thoughts: Overall this receiver is a solid performer, the few issues I have were not enough to make it less than 5 star. Wish I would have started with this unit and saved myself a lot of grief.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: I have to say I had pretty low expectations for this when I purchased it. I found myself needing to upgrade due to my older Denon not having HDMI pass through.
However when after setting this unit up and running the Audyssey setup I was very impressed with how it really woke up my speakers. On top of high quality audio the unit is really simple to work with. All the HDMI ports I've used have worked with no problem and continue to work as well. The switching work without a hitch.

Cons: I will there was more to the sound selection than "Movie", "Music", "Game", and "Pure". My last Denon had many more sound modes. Too many to list. Not that this unit isn't doing the trick, it just lacks options.

Other Thoughts: I did not buy this from Newegg. I purchased mine locally. Can not speak to shipping or condition, other than I've never been disappointed with Newegg's shipping or CS.
