1 out of 5 eggsHorrible for streaming videos

Pros: Plays blu-rays good.

Cons: Barely streams videos. Firmware is up to date but still flashes white when trying to stream Hulu or Netflix. Horrible.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Easy setup. Nice looks. Appears to be a great blu ray dvd player. Plays normal dvd's but not blu ray.

Cons: Will not play blu ray discs

Other Thoughts: Disappointed in Samsung customer service. They were not helpful. I will return for another brand.

2 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware

Pros: First things first...I did not buy this at Newegg. I bought it from elsewhere, but I feel compelled to relate my experiences. First, the pros are that it does indeed support dual band WiFi, has a dual core processor, is compact, and has a nicely designed Smart Hub interface. Firmware updates are relatively frequent...about one every two months. Played the BD disks I threw at it very well, and up converts DVDs too.

Cons: Where to start...

Upon hooking this BD Player up I had no trouble getting the Smart Hub working and subscribing to Hulu Plus, etc. At first, there were a couple of minor issues such as losing connectivity (the TV program would not load, and the player would flash the message to check my internet connection). I brushed them off, although I tried wireless AND wired and still got the same message from time to time. Fast forward a month or so to the first F/W update. The only change I noticed from the first F/W update was that the connection got even more flakey. I started suspecting the player was at fault since my internet connection was stable. As a test, I ran Hulu Plus in a browser window on my PC and the same program also on the Samsung player. The player would error out that there was a connectivity issue while the PC would continue to play the video. AHA! Caught ya. I continued to live with this issue figuring another F/W update would resolve it. No such luck. No only did the connectivity continue to be flakey, but NOW the player was turning itself OFF at random intervals. Not good. Time to take it back, which I did. Fortunately I was able to get an in store credit and purchase a Sony which has exhibited none of the issues I described.

One final con is the intrusiveness of the Smart Hub into your viewing habits. You must agree multiple times to allow Samsung to use your viewing habits data and allow them to use it for any purpose they see fit or you cannot use the Smart Hub. No opting out.

Other Thoughts: I expected far better from Samsung. After some web research, I find that my player is not defective per se, but has a continuing F/W issue. I did perform a full reset of the player and Smart Hub after each F/W update to be sure that I was giving the player a fair shot at acting properly. I wished this player worked properly as it was innovative and had a pretty user interface.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: Easy to setup and use. Excellent picture. 3D is incredible. Finally get to stream 3D from Netflix. Pandora is nice to have too. Big, BIG jump in picture quality from my old dvd's to blu-ray!

Cons: Web browser is clumsy & reminds me of the 56K days. Usable but aggravating!

Other Thoughts: For $89.99 ya can't beat it but eggsaver shipping is not the way to go if you want it right away. It took a week and a half to get to me from a location one hour away by car! ( NJ to NY). Go figure....

2 out of 5 eggsOK, but not for DLNA

Pros: Hooks up pretty easily and Netflix works well. Don't have a 3D screen yet, so cannot say about 3D.

Cons: Video streamed from a DLNA server cannot pause, rewind, or fast forward. Pretty much unusable. Probably will send it back.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete trash

Pros: None

Cons: Slow response to remote, wireless keyboard works only on browser, Netflix hangs, the whole system is sluggish
You have to agree to Samsung snooping on all your selections (and more) to enable the service
Sending it back

1 out of 5 eggsLook somewhere else - low end

Pros: Turns itself on, cans keep paper from flying away

Cons: Slow menues, apps. A simple change of menues takes 5-10 seeconds.
Most applications do not start, even after fully updated.
Would not launch Netflix - just shows a black screen
Cumbersome setup
Compared to the 5 years-old LG that replaces, the only plus are the apps.
You need to give Samsung the right to track what you watch in order to use some services.
Sending back - a complete disappointment

Other Thoughts: Complete rubbish, waste of time and money

5 out of 5 eggsBUFFERING ISSUES

Pros: Works perfectly and MOST IMPORTANTLY, does not have a buffering issue. Out of frustration and reading on line search postings on :NETFLIX BUFFERING ISSUE, I confirmed that the current product from the leading manufacturer of Blue Ray players is the cause of the problem because they do not go directly to Netflix but retransmit the signal.(probably have a server capacity issue contributing to this poor performance). I purchased this product and set it right next to my existing BD DVD with wifi etc and just switched the HDMI cable from one to the other. Samsung had no problems, the other existing product continued to have severe buffering issues to the point of being useless. Also my wifi connected "x" pad in the same room also had no buffering issues. Actually this is what led me to search the issue on line.

Cons: So far the unit operates without any problems, but haven't tried all the many features with my existing TV/Receiver

Other Thoughts: I hope this gets posted and that anyone planning to purchase a BD player with the desire to watch Netflix (only speaking to my direct personal experience, and can't speak about other streaming services) takes the time to search the buffering issue on line and come to their own conclusions. Also appreciated the fast delivery from Newegg.

2 out of 5 eggsUnstable and flaky

Pros: Supports a lot of different formats and services.
Fast boot times
Pretty good Netflix interface
Great typing prediction

Cons: Prominent placement of Samsung services that I don't care about and can't remove or hide
Extremely unstable while playing Netflix. I experience playback glitches and complete crashes/reboots at least once a day.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Quick boot and play times. Good HD picture. Netflix and other apps work well. Has Hulu etc. WiFi streams well over Signature Time Warner. Lightweight and stylish. Has my Samsung account from my TV and phone signed in. So far, this thing has played all of my digital movies no problem. I've been putting them on a USB and its awesome.

Cons: Small remote. No HDMi cable included but that's common. Fingerprint magnet. Slow updates. Had to update (install) 19 apps upon hookup to WiFi.
