Pros: Very cheap 5V 1A supply.
Cons: Is not recognized as a Garmin Charger for Nuvi 205W. This particular Garmin model thinks that it is a usb computer connection. The reason is that the extra pin X is shorted to pin 4. (This may be okay for some Garmin modes?) This can be modified to work by using a 17.4 kohm resistor between pin X and pin 4. The easiest way is to replace the mini-usb connector with a new one that has a resistor added between pin X and 4. (The mini usb plug supplied has the two pins connected. They can be cut, but the contact is not brought out to a solder pad. So even after major surgery, it is not an easy solution.)
Other Thoughts: The easiest solution would be to use the mini usb plug from your existing charger. However, if your old charger is not working, you will probably find that if you open the insulation inside the strain relief you will probably find that the interior insulator is broken and shorting to the exterior ground wires. (The cable appears to be built like a piece of coax.) Carefully separating the braid from the inner insulation and adding a little electrical tape and reassembling your will probably find that your old charger will work again.
