This review is from: EZOLink 3FT Retractable DVI-D 24+1 to HDMI Cable + Micro-USB to DVI MHL Adapter for HTC Windows Phone 8X, Droid DNA, One X+, Droid Incredible 4G LTE, One X Endeavor, One S Ville
Pros: The DVI to HDMI adapter cable might be okay. I didn't get a chance to use mine before I had to RMA the MHL adapter.
Cons: My MHL adapter didn't work at all. Since it says right in the product heading on Newegg that it supports the Droid DNA, I very confidently bought this adapter. It came with no instructions at all, so I figured I could just plug it into the phone and a monitor. As soon as I plugged it in my phone started switching from portrait to landscape and back every 5 seconds. Nothing displayed on the monitor. Thinking it might need the extra power I connected the USB port so it could draw power from a computer. No change. I plugged it into my phone's charger and the monitor, disconnected if from the phone, and then plugged it back into the phone. No change. The notifications panel on the phone would sometimes say "HDMI connected" but no video ever displayed. I tried this on three monitors, and none of them even left power save mode when I connected the adapter. Thinking it might be limited to only playing movies from the phone, I tried playing video I had recorded on the phone. Nothing.
Other Thoughts: Garbage like this is infuriating to me. It's a cable. It has no moving parts, precious few electronic components, and it could have literally been tested by someone on the assembly line at the factory in a handful of seconds before it ever left the shipping dock at the manufacturer. Instead, I the customer, have to waste my time diagnosing/debugging a defective product and pay almost half of the price of the product to ship the trash back to the reseller.
