1 out of 5 eggsbought works one doesn't

Pros: small and light

Cons: discovered that both ports only output 1a, which is no good for iPad's. The other unit seems to work great, and had both worked would have earned 5 stars.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks well, not immune to failure

Pros: Will charge my phone and tablet.
Great Customer Support
Good Warranty

Cons: Provided cables too thin
One of three failed after 11 months
Newer model available for around the same price.

Other Thoughts: I bought three of these on a Shell Shocker deal about 11 months ago. Two of the three are still working just fine, but the third failed with an internal short, so that the charging cable (attached to the microUSB) got very hot. I contacted RAVpower and they said that they would immediately send me a new one, so yay warranty.

The included cables use thin power conductors; some devices won't even admit that this is a valid power source when you use them. So if you want to charge a tablet or high-end phone off the 2A port, get yourself a good USB cable with 24AWG wires, and it should work fine. For devices that are happy with a 1A supply the provided cables do OK, but like so many USB cables are prone to failure themselves. Mine found their way to the trash months ago.

Note that if you register the device on RAVpower's website, they will give you a six month extension on the warranty; at 18 months that's about as good as you can get for this kind of device.

5 out of 5 eggsHandy to Have Along

Pros: Worked great for me on a long trip. Would have had battery life issues with my smartphone if I hadn't had this handy supply along.

Cons: The coiled cords that came with it did not work with my camera. Hard to tell if it's the cord or the camera because both of them work with everything else I've tried.

5 out of 5 eggsSo awesome

Pros: Spectacular. I drove from Baltimore to Pittsburgh, had my phone on GPS navigation the whole way, plugged into this thing, and showed up in Pittsburgh WITH ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE BATTERY PACK still showing charged. It was only after like 12 hours of use (Samsung Galaxy S3) that I was done to (G_d forbid) 3 bars of power. PLENTY of juice.

Cons: Nothing really. I mean, it's big, it's a lot heavier than a typical smartphone. But, you know, it is what it is. It's a big battery.

Other Thoughts: buy buy buy buy

1 out of 5 eggsvery disappointing

Pros: compact

Cons: very inconsistent, rarely works

Other Thoughts: I own a Samsung Galaxy S3. The RAVPower would fully charge up overnight. When I plugged it into my phone, it would not work at all. I bought 3, so I gave the others to friends. They didn't seem to have much of a problem. When I tried it with mine, it would not work. The specs said that the S3 was compatible, which is disappointing because I was hoping that it would be very useful for my travels.

I did try it once again after, and it worked. I thought it a miracle! But since then, it has not been able to keep a charge for me. Quite disappointed with my investment.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Product

Pros: I have yet to experience the pros of this product other than its nice packaging, and the nice pouch that comes with it.

Cons: Unreliable.

Other Thoughts: I ordered one of these based on product reviews. I followed the instructions, but it would not hold a charge. I contacted NewEgg, and customer service was great as usual. They offered a refund or a replacement. I decided that maybe I just got a bad unit and asked for a replacement.

The second unit arrived and was already fully charged right out of the package (ulike the first unit). I used it to charge my smartphone about four times, and then it was ready for a recharge. I plugged it into a USB port using its enclosed cable as instructed, and immediately I knew something was wrong. The charger has 4 LED power light indicators to let you know how much charge is left, or how much more the device itself needs to charge. The very first time I plugged it in to charge, LED indicator lights 1,3, and 4 lit up but LED number 2 did not. Furthermore, the lights wouldn't go off whether I unplugged it or tried to keep charging it.

I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS PRODUCT AND MANUFACTURER!!!!! I don't blame NewEgg, but I'll be calling tomorrow for a refund and will NEVER BUY A RAVPOWER PRODUCT AGAIN.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Small, 2 USB outputs. I've already drained this and got about 4.5-5 charges out of it. I say 4.5 because I left it plugged in overnight and didn't unplug it after it topped 100%. The battery goes into hibernation after 100% and then will start charging again after a little while as the phone discharges a few percentages of battery. So if I unplugged it after it got to 100% I could have gotten a full 5 charges out of this for my iPhone. I also like the power meter on it.

Cons: None. It's been great.

4 out of 5 eggsA very nice device with a great price!

Pros: I originally got one of these from my job, and it was such a boon, that I bought one for myself! It includes a nice little carrying bag, two micro-usb cables, and it lasts an absurdly long time. It charges my Droid 4 3-5 times on a single charge, and comes in handy for me, as I spend a lot of time at client sites, or in airports, etc. I would highly recommend getting one of these little guys, it's been extremely helpful for me, and saved my *** on multiple occasions.

Cons: Not many, the cables jut out a bit, make it a bit unwieldy to put in your pocket if you're charging something, but I prefer to just leave the pack in my backpack and use a long usb cable instead. Not a fan of glossy stuff.

3 out of 5 eggsdecent charger

Pros: Good price, charges many things easily, compact,
comes with 2 cords and bag and you dont have to worry about losing any bits just to charge it. I get 4 charges for my Nexus 5 out of it. Plug it in and it automatically starts charging.

Cons: It takes 24 hours to recharge fully. No matter what charger i put on it or what cord.
The button on the front beside the indicator lights only there to show you what charge remains on the unit not an on off button ( maybe not a con but odd none the less)

Other Thoughts: I have another RAV unit that I works better than this one, it charges and recharges faster but it has all those interchangeable tips that render it useless if you lose the one that charges the unit so they addressed that problem. 24 hours to recharge ??!!?? I used my N5 charger, Nook charger and it didn't matter. 24 hrs. is too long,
Look for another charger
