2 out of 5 eggsNever had to reboot a router as much as this one.

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: Cable One is happy.

Cons: It didn't help my internet, and it has to be rebooted periodically. Really?? Shouldn't have to reboot a router.

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend, unless you have to upgrade

5 out of 5 eggsPrice was right, it works

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: Had it a couple of weeks and haven't had to think about it since activation.

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: It's a cable modem. DOCSIS 3.0 is much faster than DOCSIS 2.0. After activating with Comcast, I've not given the modem a second thought. In my opinion, that's what you want from one of these.

3 out of 5 eggsStarted dying after 6 months

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: Fast, cheap, and probably good.

Cons: I have a cat who rubbed up against it so I think in the winter with high static he could have fried it (that is my justification on why it failed). But I have to unplug it once or twice a day now. Maybe paying for the CM500 would have higher quality parts.

Other Thoughts: If you live in an area with speeds ranging 25-200mbs you don't need a faster modem. But I am not sure about quality of parts they use in the higher tier models.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks great when it is not dropping connection

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: Easy to setup and great user interface

Cons: Worked great for a month or so then started dropping connection here and there. Wasnt really noticeable at first but then became more and more frequent until now it is almost a dozen drops a day. Factory reset it, made sure I am running the latest firmware from TW, changed coax cable connections and location in the home. Wish I had looked into the issue sooner when it initially started happening but thought it was TW issue.

2 out of 5 eggsnetgear

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: fast, works great when it works. Was easy to install

Cons: seams like it's over heating. I'll half to unplug it, to get it working.

Other Thoughts: If it keeps doing this I'm going to half to return it. My other modem lasted almost 5 yrs

1 out of 5 eggsIs no longer supported for TWC that has been upgraded to their new network

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: It was very stable until TWC upgraded their network for free

Cons: I was upgraded to 300Mbps down and the modem will only give up to 100Mbps not only that but the disconnects are crazy about 10+ a day. TWC has came out to my place and rewired everything but this modem just cant handle it. Even though their network is DOCSIS 3.0 and this modem should handle 300Mbps the techs told me that this modem is no longer supported. Not only that but it wont let you configure it or check and see if a new firmware version is available. The modem is locked down hard. DO NOT BUY THIS MODEM IT IS GARBAGE!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Modem

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: Great speeds. Small form factor.

Cons: Runs quite hot.

Other Thoughts: Good modem. Get same performance or better than TWC supplied modem. Internet service freezes occasionally but far less than supplied modem and indicator lights always show that there is a problem (not so with Ubee that TWC supplied). Runs quite hot, temp measurement on unit shows 100 F plus, even in completely open air environment.

5 out of 5 eggsNetgear CM400 Series Modem

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: Easy Setup
Simple Design
Compact
User Friendly

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Bought this Modem to replace a Lease Arris CM820 Modem which are the biggest pieces of junk on the planet....Found this modem to be more capable of handling stress....Extreme Gaming with this modem is no problem...It handles it just fine...Feet may look cheap but they serve the purpose...I live in CT and have Atlantic Broadband for my ISP...Modem works just fine with them even showing an increase in download / upload speeds and resulting in having less latency and lower pings across the board....Would recommend this to anyone who uses Arris branded Modems since Arris is complete trash...Netgear, you have yet to stop amazing me...

4 out of 5 eggsOverall a good modem

This review is from: NETGEAR CM400-100NAS DOCSIS 3.0 High Speed Cable Modem

Pros: Affordable, pays for it's self in 10 months since I do not have to pay modem lease fees. Easy to set up, had to call Timewarner for provisioning but not a big deal. It works.

Cons: Run a little hot, it has over heated a few times, when it over heats your bandwidth suffers. Had to install custom cooling for the unit. After the additional cooling, modem has worked fine.
