5 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: Good mic quality. Great sound, I was able to hear some parts of music instruments that I couldn't hear on my apple earbuds. Very comfortable, I don't recall a time where I had to take it off and readjust it or whatsoever. This headset has taken its beatings every now and then. I have dropped it multiple times, rarely slamming it on the desk... And it didn't snap.

Cons: The headset snapping thing is true, the right side of my headset's headband snapped when I was removing my headset from my head :( I couldn't remove the mic background noise (changing mic settings on windows), but it was tolerable for my friends. The ear cups can get dirty, so be aware of that. Even though I'm a clean freak, I didn't care for that. 7.1 surround sound was a bit useless to me, I didn't care for it and it sounded awful for my taste. Also, this is a USB headset, but I would have preferred a 3.5mm jack and get rid of the 7.1 feature. However, this is all just preference. Headset cord is a little bit short, but it'll do.

Other Thoughts: The headset WILL get uncomfortable for a few days, but after that it should be all good :) I would buy this headset again, but I don't like having USB headsets, due to me not being able to adjust the sound and stuff using Realtek HD Audio Manager. However, if you just want a headset that is good and has a decent mic, I suggest getting this headset. One more final thought is that this the cups are opened ears, so you are able to hear outside of the headset. This is good for me because my dog really likes getting my attention with his barking. Also, if you have a mechanical keyboard, you are definitely gonna be able to hear it, unless if you have music blasting in your ears.

4 out of 5 eggsReally good headset for the money

Pros: First, as usual with the Gamescom headsets, the sound is really good. It takes a while to get used to the Dolby sound coming from non-Dolby and it will sound weird at first, but it grows on you. The cord is red and non-slip, and it doesn't have the weird end protectors its predecessors had. It fits well and is easily adjustable. The cups are comfortable and a bit "standard" so if you have larger ears you'll find yourself not caring or tucking them inside sometimes. The padding is comfortable and doesn't cause the top of my head to feel rubbed off, even after hours and hours of use. The microphone is clear sounding and adjustable, as usual.

Cons: The buttons on the set are not really a con, but they are behind the set, and you might change the Dolby setting or mute the microphone by accident, and then your friends will never hear you because you won't know you're muted. Also, I don't know if it's possible to see on the pictures, but on the inside of the headset, just above the axis points, the red wire is exposed. If there is a glaring point of failure/design flaw in this headset, this has to be it. I have no idea why it isn't covered, and it seems like that would be the first point of intermittent failure, because if that plastic is sharp at all, it'll shave the insulation right off the wire and leave it exposed, causing future sound loss.

Other Thoughts: I like Plantronics products just fine, but this is a headset that came with stickers for League of Legends sponsored headset or whatever. Thus it looks "gaming" and not "could defend your house at 3am by swinging it over your head and knocking out invaders" which might make you skiddish if you have small kittens, small children, or drunk jerk friends. So far, they've not shown any issues as far as wear over a month or so, but if you're in a more hectic environment, you might choose a more solid looking set.

4 out of 5 eggsGood sound but not without flaws

Pros: 1.This headset delivers mostly solid sound.
2. Surround does the job.
3. Bass is nice, not too much-preference
4.I have a fairly large head and I find this set quite comfy.
5.Mic is very sturdy

Cons: 1. About a year and a half in, after some mild abuse(tossed on bed, sometimes falling 1½ feet to the floor) the headset snapped at the curved portion that meets the swivel joint. This was easily repaired with moldable glue that turns into rubber.
2. Sound bleeds a fair in and out of the cans.
3. General flimsiness in the cans themselves

Other Thoughts: They are good deal for the price, especially on sale, but I myself am interested in getting a stand alone mic and headphone set up for a more sound isolated set up.

3 out of 5 eggsnot what i'd expected

Pros: plantronics brand
soft ear cups

Cons: Too tight for my thick head.
tinny sound compared to my old gamecom 377 which were way more comfy and had nice bass and a richer overall sound.
I'm waiting for the day the swivel joints crack seems to be a weak point.

Other Thoughts: Simulated 7.1 is cheap no matter the brand. If I wanted echo effect I'd select the bathroom effect on my sound card.

I used a heat gun to soften the head band a bit so no more head in vise problem.

3 out of 5 eggsLasted for 2-3 years before breaking

Pros: Comfortable, Good Value price, Good sound quality, easy set up, looks nice

Cons: As many others have reviewed, the head band is made of cheap plastic that eventually breaks at the ear piece connection. Mine is currently hanging on by a thread. After inspecting it, the right side is also breaking in the same location. They should reinforce the joinery with steel as it is clearly a point of failure in the design of the headset. Not much for sound insulation, doesn't block out outside noise.

5 out of 5 eggs2+ Years of daily use

Pros: The sound is incredible and the durability was great for the price. After repeated drops and cord being rolled over by chair. After 2 and a half years of daily use, it finally snapped along the seam of one of the earphones. It still works, it's just that the ear piece is about to fall off. The instant it happened, I ordered another one because I love it so much.

Cons: Short and not braided cord.

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best ones

Pros: 1. headset large enough to cover my whole ear (thats what i prefer)
2. people nearby have hard time to hear what are u listening to
3. long wire
4. mic is really good .. it removes background noise, and clears urs
5. easy control of volume, its only on the back of the headset
6. cool design
7. fabric will not hurt your ear (plastic ones sometimes crack and that hurt my ears)
8. Surrounding sound button, really nice feature when listening to music or such.

Cons: 1. a bit heavy that usual, when using for 5+ hours, ur head will hurt a bit. i have to rotate the position every hour or so, so its not a big deal anymore.
2. dust and particles in air gets stuck on the fabric, if u dont mind that its cool, but if u want your headset to be clean and nice u have to clean it off ( takes 5 mins or so)

Other Thoughts: just now i broke it, it was my fault though... the frame just snapped from both sides (between the adjustable screw, and the fabric on top) .. looking for another one but cant find a replacement :( .. this one was really good XD

i dont use surrounding sound that much, since i game a lot, and most games already have surrounding, if i enable that.. i will get double the surrounding XD

2 out of 5 eggsAround ear, no sound insulation.

Pros: Sounds good, fits well.

Cons: I have owned a number of headsets, cannot remember any being so poorly insulated. Very disappointed in that the around ear cushion does not limit ANY sound what so ever from entering OR going out of the headset! I would normally expect at least SOME affect on the sounds, but this is not the case. A person, sitting 30 feet away could hear what I was listening to and I could hear them speaking as well. NOT what I would have expected. I did not expect super sound elimination as these are not that type of headphones. Still, most of these types would at least contain/ limit SOME of the sound entering or escaping. This probably has a lot to do with the soft foam of the earpiece, it does not limit anything. Why buy a fully enclosed /headset/earpiece then?

Other Thoughts: Would not recommend. Imagine sitting in a room with other people, all of them speaking and all of them hearing what comes through your headphones as well.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Sound great. Better than advertised, IMHO. Very good at keeping external noises at bay.

Cons: No software disc as was indicated in the package. Not a big issue though as it was readily available online at the Plantronix site.

Other Thoughts: I'm able to hear things I never could before in my media, etc...
