5 out of 5 eggsAwesome performance for sub $200

Pros: The sound quality has to be the best defining quality of these headphones. Deep rich bass, clear mids, crisp and clean highs, all balanced very well together.
Comfort is also a plus with these, especially for extended listening. I'm able to ear these for hours and not feel discomfort or fatigue on my ears or head. Plenty of space inside the ear cups for, even if you have larger ears. Headband is soft and doesn't feel "clampy" with the ear cups.
Everything is well built, nothing feels loose or out of place. All the moving parts are smooth and easy to manipulate, no "creaking" sounds.

Cons: I'm not a huge fan of the style of these headphones, however everyone has their own preferences.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for great sound and not looking to break the bank, I'd recommend these.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Comfortable, Great Sound, fantastic build quality. These live up to their reviews.

Cons: Proprietary audio connector to the headset. Not a huge con but something to keep in mind should your cable break.

Something weird happened to my sound card when I cranked these to full. The card stopped working, several restarts and no dice. Had to reinstall drivers to get it working again, still not sure what that was. (had amp between headset and computer tho)

Other Thoughts: I've owned a few different kinds of headsets including: Logitech G930s, Beats, a few different Philips and Sony headsets, turtle beach, Skullcandy SLYR all north of $100 and these take the cake by miles.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat headphones for the money

Pros: Excellent sound quality. I hear elements of songs that I listen to that I never even knew were there. The detachable cables come in handy if you want to use it on a phone and want a short cable but back home you want a long cable for on the computer. These are very comfortable. I can wear them for hours without experiencing any pain.

Cons: The only con I can really think of is that I couldn't get them sooner through the seller. Fast shipping was unavailable however the shipping provided was free.

I am worried with all the ways these things can swivel and twist that over time those may be points of failure.

Other Thoughts: All in all a very good purchase. I got the m50x instead of the m50 sort of as an insurance policy for if a cable breaks so if I bought the M50 instead of M50x I would have to buy new headphones if the cable broke.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Headphones

Pros: These headphones are so good, I transitioned from music to, um, adult material without realizing anyone else was even home!

Cons: Sound isolation can be too good sometimes I suppose.

5 out of 5 eggsDream Boat

Pros: Great balanced sound
long modular cable
fits in with the rest of my gear

Paired up with my xonar dx's, these headphones bring the noise to a whole new level of sexy.

Cons: A little tight, but I suppose that's because I still need to break them in

Other Thoughts: I'd highly recommend it to a friend

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome cans

Pros: I am writing this as I have these headphones straight out of the box and on my head. I plugged these into my Asus Xonar Essence STX, set the EQ to flat response, set my sample rate to PCM 192khz and with bated breath selected Eagles - The Disco Strangler. Out of the box, no break in period, flat response...WOW! I had read reviews about these cans not having bass, uhhhhhhh not true. It's a very natural, well blended bass. To me the midrange and highs were spot on. From day one I can honestly say I made a great choice at this price point. I was contemplating the M50's to save a few bucks thinking I didn't really care if I had a choice of cords but it is handy to be able to remove the cord from the headphones and not have to reach in the back of my computer to unplug them. Since I was so quick to write this review I can't speak to the long term wearing comfort of these cans but so far no complaints.

Cons: Wish I would have bought them sooner.

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful Headphones

Pros: Where do I start?
-Build Quality is excellent. The headband is very flexible, all the pivot points and rotation points are very solid and work great. This is made mostly of plastic, but it does not feel like plastic.
-Features are plentiful. The m50x's have the detachable cable, which is the whole reason I bought them (my dad has the m50's with the coiled cable, he loves them but the cable can be hard to manage). They fold up and come with a soft leather case that is nice to keep them clean and keep them from getting scuffed. The headphones come with three cables: the long straight one, the shorter straight one and the coiled one (plus the 1/4" adaptor for the long and coiled). Personally I use all three cables because these are the only headphones I use. The long one goes to the back of my desktop so I don't have to reach around my desk every time I want to plug them in. The shorter one I use with my phone (it is designed for it, the 3.5mm connector is skinny and would fit through any case I've seen). And I use the coiled one with my laptop.
-Sound Quality is the best I've ever heard. I'm not an experienced audio junkie, these are the first pair of headphones I've owned that are worth mentioning besides a pair of ATH-M30's. However, I have read a TON into how these sound in comparison to other headphones and they are very well regarded. Listening is always subjective, but since you have read this far it probably won't hurt to throw my opinion in as well. The bass is very well pronounced, very broad and incredibly accurate, the mid-range is defined but not over powering and the highs are incredible but they don't have enough sparkle to hurt my ears. I can audibly dissect any part of any song and listen to one instrument or the whole sound and not miss anything, fantastic.
-Very Comfortable. The ear pads are very thick and the foam on the insides is soft enough for me. The drivers are angled slightly back which gives your ears more room toward the back (very well done Audio Technica). The fau-leather is nice, I'm not picky. The clamping force is just enough, they don't hurt at all after a week of use and they will still stay on your head under pretty much any circumstance you should be wearing them.
-They look pretty darn good. This is also subjective. But I have the black ones, and I think they look very good, but not unprofessional or gaudy.
-Noise Isolation is a strong suit. The leather pads seal very well and help keep out noise. I ride public transportation quite often and I love these because I can't hear any of the outside noise and nobody can hear what I'm listening to.

Cons: The one minor detail I would mention is the amount of padding on the headband is a little less then there could be. It can be uncomfortable for a month or so until you break them in and get use to wearing them. Again this is a very small complaint.

Other Thoughts: For the price, these headphones are quite a deal. If you are looking at them I would strongly recommend buying them, but also look at some headphones like the Beyer Dynamic Custom One Pros or DT770's that are in the same price range.

5 out of 5 eggsNice price to performance

Pros: * Highly flexible and durable design
* detachable/ lockable (3) cords
* crisp, clean, solid sound that hits this highs, mids and lows
* Multi faceted for gaming, listening to music, or standard talk
* Collapsible and comes with a carrying bag

Cons: None considering my needs compared to what this product offers.

Other Thoughts: First let me say that these headphones are not for anyone who is a hardcore bass head. They are for someone who wants to hear every little detail of an audio mix with clarity and precision. The bass is there, it's just not overpowering everything else in the audio. The cups are comfortable for long listening sessions and the band is covered in a soft, padded material. They are also very flexible. They come with a carrying case and a 1.2m corded cable, a 1.2m cable, and a 3m cable, all are detachable and lock in place easlily with a twist. They are not completely noise isolated, you will be able to hear someone talking to you (if you're not completely rocking out) and if anyone is around you they will be able to hear the audio if it is above a marginal level. If you are torn between these and the original m50's know that the only real difference between the two is the ability to choose different cables to use with playback. So you must ask yourself is that feature (and accessories) worth an extra $20-50? The only real knock I could have for them is I wish they had a battery powered wireless option Overall though I couldn't be happier with the quality audio I get with these bangers. If what I've described is in your ballpark then I'll say have no fear and most importantly, have fun with your purchase!
