Klipsch Image S3m In-Ear Headphones with In-line Control and Mic

Specifically engineered for mobile devices, the Klipsch S3m headphones give you a front stage pass to your music collection whether you are an Apple®, Android™, Windows® or BlackBerry® user.

This is the ultimate hassle-free headphone thanks to a nifty single-button remote and mic which gives you total control of both your playlist and phone calls on virtually all of your mobile devices. The S3m also features durable, tangle-resistant cables to alleviate the anguish of unkinking a clump of wires.

Legendary Klipsch Sound

No matter your device, the S3m brings the best possible sound, producing dazzling highs and lows befitting of the Klipsch audiophile heritage. The S3m utilizes a customized 5.8mm moving-coil driver to deliver smooth, full-bodied sound that can hold its own.

Patented Oval Ear Tips

Headphones can sound great, but if they don’t fit, you’re not going to want to put them in your ears. Unlike traditional, circular-shaped ear tips which don't fit properly in your oval-shaped ear canal, the S3m utilizes the patented Klipsch oval ear tip design making them virtually impossible to feel and perfect for long-term wear. Oval ear tips fit better, feel better and only Klipsch has them.

The excellent seal gained from the oval ear tips allows the S3m to have superior noise-isolating capabilities, blocking unwanted background noise from reaching your ears.

All About the Extras

The S3m comes with three pairs of different-sized oval ear tips, clothing clip, a carrying case and two-year warranty. Available in black, white, blue, red and jade, the S3m is able to complement your fashion choices as well as functioning with virtually any device that has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

Using the S3m’s one-button remote and microphone, it is possible to:

  • Answer/end calls
  • Volume up/down
  • Play/pause
  • Track forward/track back

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Use every day and night and I'm pleased with the performance. The earbud inserts stay on the plastic studs through movement, wrapping the cord, and pulling out of pants pocket. All other earbuds I've owned I keep losing the inserts when pulling out of pants pocket. Out lasted all other earbud sets I've owned including SkullCandy, Sennheiser CX150, and Sennheiser CX200.

Cons: The earbuds were more comfortable when I swap left and right. The microphone housing is now making a rattle when I shake it. However it has lasted for 11-months. Bass level is not as strong as the CX200's however.

5 out of 5 eggsAndroid/apple

Pros: Klipsch Name

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Sooo many people think they are smarter than everyone else because they know that Android and Apple use different wiring. Too bad they don't know how to read.

2 out of 5 eggsExpected more

Pros: They are Klipsch and come with a 2 yr warranty.

Cons: I thought for the sale price I got these for I was expecting so much more and come away very disappointed. They are decent headphones I suppose but the sound on them do not match the sound coming from my Skullcandy Ink'd 2.0 earbuds. Volume is lower and sound does not seem as full.

Other Thoughts: @$10 they are ok headphones I suppose but at their normal price I would have been very disappointed. If you must go Klipsch I think going for their higher end ones is the way to go but it will cost you.

1 out of 5 eggsStill no answer from Klipsch Support

Pros: Based on my experience with generic vs Apple specific headphones, you will be able to at least listen to music since the left speaker and right speaker contacts are the same for most devices.

Cons: After four days, my support ticket to Klipsch has gone unanswered (see earlier post). Based on some more research done online, I've concluded that it should be impossible for the mike control attached to the headphones to work on both Apple and Android (ie Samsung etc) being that the mike and ground poles are reversed for these two manufacturers. Therefore, it should be impossible for this device to be compatible with both Apple and Android, other than purely for listening. I wish they would indicate that in their literature. As far as which brand device it was made for, I have no idea since the 3.5mm pin configuration is not indicated.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: They sound great : good detail, good separation, good base. If you don't hear any base: make sure you choose the right ear tips, after you put them in your ears, rotate them around until you hear good base. You also don't want to hear too much base because you will loose the lows and the mids.

Cons: The manual should provide more detail instructions.

Other Thoughts: I definitely will buy them again when they are on sell. Thanks Newegg and Klipsch.

2 out of 5 eggsKlipsch Name, Poor Quality

Pros: I got them for $10 with free shipping. Noise cancellation isn't bad at all.

Cons: The sound quality and range of these headphones falls far below what I was expecting for a Klipsch product. In fact, the headphones that came with my phone sound better. High frequencies seem like they can't be reproduced well through the drivers, and lows struggle to exist at all. The result is an item that does nothing well. I have a feeling the low price was an attempt to have a fire sale and get rid of an underwhelming, underperforming name brand product.

1 out of 5 eggsHow can it work for both Apple and Android?

Pros: Was a good price on a daily special.

Cons: I recently discovered that 4 pole 3.5mm mini-plugs (TRRS) are used for smartphones and tablets. I also discovered that Apple decided to reverse the ground and microphone portions of the pin. They then patented that pin arrangement. Since the pin arrangement is different for Apple than it is for Android, I wondered how this headphone could work for both Apple and Android, as claimed. I opened a Support Ticket with Klipsch 3 days ago, asking that same question. I have not received a response since then so my ticket is still open. In the meantime, the discount price has expired. Obviously I am irritated.

Other Thoughts: If I ever get an explanation of why a single pin arrangement would work for competing manufacturers, I will change my review and score.

5 out of 5 eggsworks wll and sounds good

Pros: i got them for 1.99
sound is pretty good for ear buds

Cons: not sure they would be worth the $36 they normally are
inline control is limited, but better then nothing.

Other Thoughts: they fit my ears pretty well which is nice as i have a hard time finding ear buds that do. the little case they came with is nice.
if you have them and they sound bad make sure they are plugged in right as my wife had that issue with her pair and all i did was turn the plug and it fixed them. i didnt have that issue with my devices and she only had the issue on her tablet so i would say its the device and not the ear buds.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing sound

Pros: Amazing sound
Bass really hits
Comes with several sets of different sized ear buds
Very comfortable and stay in your ear very well.
Comes with a small zipper case to keep them safe when not in use.
Sound quality from the built in Mic is nice and clear and does not have any static.

Cons: Cable does seem a bit thin so I wouldn't personally throw these into a backpack or anything like that.

Other Thoughts: Just received these recently through a daily deal with Mobogenie paying only $1.99 for the shipping. I was expecting something a but cheap, uncomfortable, or that sounded horrible. I was very very pleasantly surprised, the quality of sound coming from the headphones rivals some of the much more expensive pairs I have used in the past. The different sized ear buds are a little hard to change but I find that more to be positive than negative since I know they wont just fall off.

Note - There is a single button on the inline mic which will allow you to Pause/Play and skip forward a song by pressing it either once or twice quickly respectively. The instructions also say you can press it three times quickly to skip back a track but that doesn't seem to function with Google Music app.
