4 out of 5 eggsVery good looking

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: This mouse is not only very nice to look at, but it feels amazing to use. It's sturdy, it's clean, it's shaped well to fit in your hand. It's got a nice variety of LEDs that are easily switched directly from the mouse itself

Cons: The only bad thing I have to say, is the software, crashes often, becomes unresponsive after applying changes. I've even noticed some typos but that's nothing major.

Other Thoughts: Can't beat the price, other than some software being a bit nippy, I'm very satisfied.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mouse

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: -Just the right amount of buttons
-Program for customization
-Adjustable DPI
-Weight
-Shape and contour to my hand

Cons: The brushed iron coating is coming off the mouse, but it's just cosmetic. Not really an issue.

Other Thoughts: This mouse replace my previous one of 4 years. I decided to get a gaming mouse for the extra features. Even though Perixx isn't a brand I recognize, I'm impressed with the quality so far.

4 out of 5 eggsUpgraded My Mouse

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: Good gaming mouse for Battlefield 2. Inexpensive, replaced my Microsoft Optical Mouse 3000. The price was great. At first I had some thumb discomfort but it went away. It also offered a good grip.

Cons: When you turn on the computer the mouse is very bright, I always have to lower the LED light to Blue

Other Thoughts: I think it is breathing, the mouse pulsates very slowly.. I hope it is not a transformer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mouse

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: 4 different vibrant LED colours
On the spot dpi adjustment
configurable buttons (7 of them!)
braided cable
very low price for a gaming mouse

Cons: the adhesive comes off the metal part, not really a con to me but some may not like it.

Other Thoughts: I love this mouse, I will be buying another one if the one that I have ever breaks

5 out of 5 eggsHUGE bang for your buck

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: Great feel and weight.

Looks cool with the decepticon thing.

Scroll wheel is fantastic.

Side buttons are wonderfully difficult to accidentally press.

Customizable LED and DPI settings.

Cons: Braided cable snags on my mouse pad, but that's really a personal problem.

Does not include a Mountain Dew tap.

Other Thoughts: For the price, this mouse cannot be beat. The construction rivals that of Razer, no trolling.

1 out of 5 eggsI wrote one review before

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: Alot, This is an AMAZING mouse, lasted for a long time, very durable, love the threaded cable and the 4 DPI modes each have a certain color light

I only gave it 1 star because i want this to be read.
for 16 bucks this is one hell of a quality mouse. i think i paid 25.

Cons: Ok, this is why i came back to write a review.
This mouse is well made, the decepticon shell is real metal, but thats the problem.
I use y computer ALOT, im very suprised im not fat, but let me tell you ive put miles on this mouse.

Now the shiny metal finish is wearing off, at first it wasn't an issue, now pretty much theres no metal gloss left and for anyone who knows their metals, you can imagine where that gloss went.
thats right , on your hand.

now i am not allergic to metals, but boy did i develop a case of Pompholyx / Dyshidrosis whatever its called.
This is caused by nickel, and im sure there is nickel in the plating.

The only medical condition id expect from a mouse is carpel tunnel. but at least this mouse is comfortable.

Its clearly the mouse, as my right hand now looks like i have mild leprosy.
i haven't contacted Perixx over this, i dont know if they would care, but thats really the only downside from using this mouse. I still love the mouse. overall, being a decepticon nut, i still love this mouse. I just never expected the metal to come off and cause a skin condition. The finish is almost gone, and the bumps are starting to go away, so i think im just about over this speedbump, but this is the first time in my life, or really that ive ever herd of this, and its kinda important, enough so that i feel it deserves this bit of info in the review.
but again, i would recommend buying this mouse. just not if you have a metal allergy, i cant imagine how that would be for somebody to be allergic to their computer mouse. Theres a good excuse for not handing in that college paper!

Other Thoughts: The wire frayed up a bit, just lightly lick it with the flame of a lighter to keep it looking new, dont try this trick if your an idiot.

3 out of 5 eggsNot comfortable

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: Price.
Ability to turn the light off.
The soft touch on the sides and on the buttons.
Optical mice react faster than laser mice.

Cons: Ambidextrous designs aren't good. For years I've been using mice designed for your right hand. I didn't realize how uncomfortable this would be for me. The issue I have is that my index finger hovers too high and I constantly feel that I'm forcing my hand to hover over the mouse. My finger started hurting an hour in and I got rid of the mouse.

The wheel has feedback (I've seen worse wheels for sure) but it's lackluster, and doesn't feel as good as my current mouse.

Front thumb button is too far forward (like all mice).

The light on it's lowest setting is still too bright, dwarfing the backlight on my keyboard.

The optical laser can be seen through the mouse when the light is turned off.

The feet are bad. I have a hard mouse pad with a grainy texture and my current mouse is quiet on it while this one makes a lot of noise. To the touch the feet on this are almost as hard as the mouse itself.

Other Thoughts: It's pretty heavy.
The cord is braided. I personally don't like them but most mice come that way now.

5 out of 5 eggsbeyond the standard review

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: i just finished disassembling and reassembling the mouse due to a coolant leak (i spilled soda on it) ... and the construction was pretty solid inside. good size solders on the boards and beefy wheel construction, high quality microswitches. this mouse is not all style and no substance. when cleaning the different switches and chips and sensors, everything fit together very snug and clean.

Cons: none. if the mouse keeps you awake at night, get some semi-transparent tape (make sure its of a neutral coloration) and mask off the palm windows for the LED (from the inside, of course). i did this and it looks 1000x better at night.

Other Thoughts: i work for a major electronics manufacturer, so i'm going in and out of devices quite regularly. i can't understate the value of the construction of this product. pretty sure this mouse could take a good bashing from the outside, possibly even falling out of a moving vehicle, and not have a hiccup aside from some exterior damage.

2 out of 5 eggsWhat you pay for

This review is from: Perixx MX-1000 Iron Gaming Mouse - 7 Programmable Button, 5 User Profile, Omron Micro Switches, Avago 2000DPI A3050 Optical Sensor (Silver)

Pros: Looks fancy... Bright and colorful, and the multiple DPI settings is nice.

Cons: Well i had this mouse for about a month and a half and it is on its way to the trash as we speak. USB and 2 inches up are built cheap, as in now the mouse will turn off/on constantly if you even touch it the slightest bit. Also for people that like to log on a computer and go, not with this mouse, the software takes like 5-10 seconds to respond when you log on/plug it in (For me when it turns on/off). While playing games it was pretty good but like a lot of other products I had gotten for a cheap price... It lasts long enough for you to write a good review about it and then breaks. Just like we all got told before, you get what you pay for and remember for the price and looks you know the quality will not be there.
