Pros: Works extremely well as a stand along cloning device. Very fast!.

Hard drive Cloning though the use of Windows OS, is dreadfully slow.

Love it.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It would be great idea "if the power button would change color" when stand along cloning process is done. I walked away during the process, and I wasn't sure if it was complete? Because I wasn't around to hear the final beeping "beeping" sound it makes when is done. So. I had to wait about a 1/2 extra just to make sure it was finalized.

Other than that... It is awesome device!

Pros: Before I begin my review on this product, let me set the record straight on something. NewEgg DOES NOT PAY their Eggxpert Reviewers ANY MONEY for a review (GOOD OR BAD - ON ANY PRODUCT)!!! When they 1st asked me to become a reviewer, they told me that I could post ANY TYPE of review that I wanted to, either GOOD OR BAD! The only thing that they asked me to do was to be honest in my review, which I try to be. Now that this is finished, let's start…

I absolutely love this thing. About the only thing I can say bad about it is that I didn't get the 3-Bay version. If I had, I would could have Cloned and/or Copied almost any HD from one unit to others and to top this off it would have only been about $10.00 extra. What can I say, Dummy Me…

In order to use the Clone Function you just have to follow these 10 steps.

1. TURN OFF the System.
2. Unplug the USB Cable (WITH THE POWER STILL OFF).
3. Move the 2-Position slider-switch on the back from PC to CLONE.
4. Insert the 2 HD's (Make sure the HD to be copied is in the HDD #1 Slot (MASTER) and the other HD is in the HDD Slot #2 TARGET).
5. Turn ON the unit (Make sure to wait about 1 Minute for the HD's to warm up to speed).
6. PRESS AND HOLD the COPY BUTTON on the back for about 5 seconds until the unit BEEPS, then release the COPY BUTTON. This BEEP signals that the CLONING PROCESS has started.
7. When the unit BEEPS again, the Cloning Process is complete.
8. TURN OFF the unit.
9. Move the 2-Position slider-switch from CLONE to PC.
10. Plug in the USB Cable.

The unit is NOW back in it's NORMAL MODE. There a couple of things to make note of. They are:

1. The TARGET HD MUST BE THE SAME (OR LARGER) SIZE than the MASTER HD.
2. IF the TARGET HD is LARGER then the MASTER HD, you can then use the COMPUTER MANAGEMENT UTILITY to increase (or EXTEND) the size of the Partition of the TARGET HD to it's FULL SIZE.

I'll give you an example of how long it takes for an HD to be Cloned.

I have an HP495 MediaSmart Server that I have used for about 3-4 years now. I have found that whenever the SYSTEM Disk goes bad that it is much easier just to use a CLONED copy of the SYSTEM Disk that I have burned unto a 128GB SSD that I keep. I do this ONLY because HP's Recover CD has kicked out with more failures than I can count. If it worked correctly, I would probably use the Recovery CD.

I use this same SYSTEM Disk on a 128GB SSD (which I keep as a MASTER) and then CLONE that unto a 2TB HD in about 10 Minutes. Now (for you) depending on the size of the MASTER and the TARGET HD's you're trying to CLONE, this could take longer OR shorter. Just for your knowledge...

Cons: None that I can think of. Not a one…

Whoops, I'm wrong… Some type of a cover to keep the dust and dirt out would make a nice addition...

Other Thoughts: Hey ORICO, you guys did a GREAT JOB on this unit and you should be proud of it.

If I were to change anything on it, I might move the Drive Activity Lights to the Front of the unit instead of on the top. Also some type of cover would be a nice addition.

One other thing I would like to see is a 4-Bay Unit… How about it OR is this just wishful thinking...

Pros: Speed 3.0. Is easy change the HDD.

Cons: Suddenly restart in the device, only sometime if you are working everyday with it.

Pros: Nice clean lines so it looks good on my desk. Easy way to connect SATA drives to my machine. Flexible as it allows me to use 2.5 and 3.5 drives in both slots.

Cons: Not the most reliable. I occasionally have problems with it. It won't recognize a drive or the machine stops recognizing the dock itself.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it has worked for me and continues to work but I don't always have a lot of faith in it which is a big hit against this dock.

Pros: inexpensive, but you get what you pay for with this item, made and designed in China

Cons: Doesn't work out of the box. Loses connection to drive in the middle of cloning. Cloning within unit just stops never finishes - 10 hours later. Cut it off. Designed and made in China doesn't cut it. Go look elsewhere. Just had to spend 30% of the cost of the unit to return it for refund. Obviously I am not going to buy another one.

Pros: Handy little device for cloning, transferring large numbers of files, or running hard drive checks. Had disconnect problems early on, but found that the problem was a driver issue with the 3.0 USB card that it was connected to, and not the docking station. After a driver update to the card, 3.0 use has been problem free ever since. Takes about 2 hours to transfer 1TB of data to a drive attached to the docking station.

Cons: None to speak of.

Other Thoughts: It would have been nice to have individual power buttons for each drive, rather than one for both. Small inconvenience for an otherwise good product.

Cons: Instructions are lacking, could be simplified into a short accurate document.

Pros: lower cost

Cons: After 5 weeks, it started not recognizing drives. Burned up one of my new SSD drives while trying to copy drive. Intermittently looses connection.

Pros: None

Cons: I may have been able to give this device a proper review had it worked at all. I plugged it in to the power source and turned it on. I then connected the SATA cable of the docking station, and nothing happened. I tried everything, I unplugged it from it's power source and restarted it countless times. I did the same for the SATA Cable and nothing worked. I looked online and it said that Windows 8.1 did not support it at the time. I'm not sure if it was my OS or the bay itself. Either way, this was a huge disappointment of a purchase.

Other Thoughts: Customer Service and returning this was also a nightmare. Shipping and Restocking fees cost me over half of what I payed for it. Newegg customer service has usually been reliable, and I trust this website to only sell me quality products it believes in, but this drive was a huge let down.
