1 out of 5 eggsUnreliable

Pros: Nice simple toolfree design

Cons: Usually not detected by host, randomly disconnects when it is detected. Worked fine at first, but didn't last.

Other Thoughts: It's too bad the electronics don't work on this, the case is really nice.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Slim, compact

Cons: Internal drive has a chance to disengage from the sata power/drive socket. I had to add a weatherproofing strip to the front edge of the cover to tighten things up.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect case of enclosing your internal 2.5" HD

Pros: As the name says - Tool Free. You just need to slip in the HD, slide it, connect and use it. It is working great since day one when it arrived. Did not face any issue with it.

Cons: Nothing as of now

3 out of 5 eggsmixed feelings

Pros: toolless
metal construction
easy to use

Cons: loose cable
drive doesn't fit securely

Other Thoughts: i've had this enclosure for a while now and when it works, it's really nice...however, if i look at it wrong it disconnects....if the breeze blows just right it disconnects literally at least once every time i use it...

also, my drive (which came out of my laptop) moves around a bit in the enclosure....i actually had to put a little wedge in the case to keep it securely in place

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Simple, USB3, really convenient to switch drives.

Cons: Very short cable, once in a while the disk slips off the connector and stops working until you reseat it.

Other Thoughts: Can be difficult to open, but that seems like an OK tradeoff to be sure it never falls open unintentionally.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat use for an old SSD! (or a new one...)

Pros: Just popped the old SSD into this box, closed the lid, plugged in the included USB 3.0 cable and bam! It instantly showed up as a hard drive in Windows 8.1.

It really was that easy.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I have an old 80 GB SSD that's really too small to be a primary disc anymore that was just siting around so I got this box and cable thing to give the old thing a new purpose. This would also work great for cloning from your old disk to a new 2,5" HDD or SSD that you would temporarily install in this box for the cloning procedure.

Interesting note: When attached to my USB 3.0 port, Windows saw this particular 80 GB Intel SSD as an internal, rather than an external drive.

3 out of 5 eggsInteresting Situation

Pros: - Slim
- USB 3.0
- Sleek

Cons: - Too slim for my 1TB Toshiba drive to fir properly. (Had to duct tape the back on cause I didn't want to order a different one)
- Short USB cable (Not too bad, just annoying)

1 out of 5 eggsUsed To Like This!

Pros: Simple to use - no tools necessary, can have a new HD in it in a very short period of time.

Cons: All of a sudden, no matter which drive I put in it, it hangs the computer (explorer, disk manager, etc). I never had this issue with the 2.0 enclosures. It is not the cable - I have an Anker enclosure, the drives work find with that one.

4 out of 5 eggsOrico 2.5 SATA Enclosure

Pros: Solid feel to the enclosure. Takes a little jiggling to get everything situated but once setup, quite a snug fit. Very simple setup and Windows picked it up right away. Use this case to troubleshoot drives.

Cons: For some reason, this thing won't pick up certain drives of mine. I stuck in a 160GB Hitachi drive and it won't read at all. Doesn't even spin up or show any activity. Kinda clueless on this one but it was an extra drive so no real problem.

Other Thoughts: Can't really lose on an enclosure under $10 that works exactly as advertised.
