Pros: Looks and feels better than some other plastic models. Works with USBs.

Cons: Still vulnerable to damage, but you get what you pay for. Does not play nice with older machines or operating systems.

Other Thoughts: If you've never had to format and partition an old drive so you can use it for mass storage, (like a flash drive) then you'll want to do some research on the internet. "Initializing, format, and Disk Manager" should steer you towards a proper guide.

Pros: Works Like a Charm. The cable is good length a very flexible. I'd buy enclosure just for the cable.

Cons: Absolutely none

Pros: This thing is cheaper then a meal at a fast food restaurant and yet it just works. Five minutes after FedEx dropped it off I had it working. Right now simply using an older 80 Gig Intel SSD but will soon upgrade to something larger. No problems at all.

Cons: It's cheap and made of plastic but that doesn't seem to effect performance.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend this to anybody as virtually foolproof. Don't even have to pick up a screwdriver.

Pros: Great Price, Solid Construction, only one USB cable required (cable is supplied)

Other Thoughts: I had a problem with the drive I was using, NOT the ORICO. Drive came from a Win 10 laptop, thus had active Win 10 partitions ("C" plus multiple hidden partitions). Drive/ORICO DID NOT work on my older desktop PC. It DID WORK on my much newer Laptop. The problem when attempting to connect to the older machine, due to the active WIN 10 partitions on the drive.

So I deleted the active Win10 partitions by connecting via the ORICO USB to my newer laptop. I then used control panel - administrative tools - computer management - storage - disk management - to delete all partitions on the drive (rt. click on the partitions, then "delete"). Next I quick formatted the blank drive with NTFS (rt. click on the blank drive, while still in control panel - administrative tools - computer management - storage - disk management), then click "format" and use the default options.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE WORKING ON THE CORRECT DRIVE!

The drive then worked magnificently in the ORICO, in both my older and newer systems. Above is a good procedure overall if your drive was previously the system drive in another device (i.e. laptop). This way, you clear all of the partitions (including the hidden ones), and start with a "pristine" drive.

Pros: -Fast USB 3
-Swap out a hard drive like you would a floppy disc

Cons: -This product doesn't work with a mac. When the drive goes to sleep it doesn't wake back up. Other reviews indicate this can be fixed with a firmware upgrade. The upgrade can't be found on the Orico web site. The support staff were responsive by email, with a day or two of delay. Due to miscommunications it took a week to get confirmation the firmware upgrade existed, with the caveat that it is Windows only. The firmware was not attached to emails, delaying getting the upgrade for another few weeks. When I finally got the upgrade, the provided manual was in Chinese. I've nearly given up. The low cost doesn't justify the investment of time.

Other Thoughts: Only purchase if you'll use this under Windows.
Hopefully the company will improve its web site and english language support.

Pros: - Very compact
- Includes USB3 cable

Cons: - Case slides and snaps shut with a little difficulty, and was prone to pop open when not securely closed.
- The clearance for thicker HDDs makes thinner drives buzz and wobble within the enclosure. I corrected this by adhering a thin block of foam packing to the inside to steady and dampen the drive.

Other Thoughts: The USB cable is removable and not fixed to the case, and it's not weatherproof. It doesn't advertise that it is, it's a snap shut enclosure, but some people might have that expectation because of the design of external drives today.

Pros: The price is very cheap.

Cons: When the hard drive goes to sleep, you cant wake it back up unless you unplug / replug the enclosure back. I've at least 5 different kinds of hard drives / different manufacturers and they all experienced the same issue.
