4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Fairly thin dimensions means more table space.
The HDD sits tight; pulling the HDD takes a little more effort than some docks. It makes me happy that the HDD wont loosen due to the dock being knocked over.
USB 3.0 is obviously faster than 2.0.

Cons: No documentation. Dyconn's website doesn't list the unit.
Status lights are confusing. Blue is power. I think the red blinks when HDD is in use, but can be either solid OR off while the drive is idle.

Other Thoughts: Real-world transfer speeds from a 7200rpm 3.5" using USB 3.0 were as follows:
Write: 55~100MB/s, Read: 45~110MB/s.
Dock has recognized all of the 4 drives I've given it.
I'm not sure if the eject button does anything special electronically. It may be the equivalent of pulling it out with my hand.
There is a larger gap than needed for a 3.5" HDD. Just under a half inch of extra space. I'm not sure what it's for. Perhaps heat dissipation. Maybe it's to allow the ejected HDD to lean instead of fall back into place.

5 out of 5 eggsNifty device

Pros: Ok, this might not be the best looking device out there, but works exactly as it should. One thing that I absolutely love about this dock is that it's not deep, since I have limited real estate on my paper-littered desk, so that's a big plus for me。 I have three different drives (2 WD Black 2TB drives & 1 Seagate Barracuda XT 3TB) that I use the most often to move around huge amount of CAD files (I am an industrial designer). Oh, I have tried a couple of other docks from Vantec before, they were okay, but this particular one has a very robust eject mechanism which I believe to be much superior. The Vantec ones feel flimsy (one did break after 6 months of usage, but I got to say, I do hot-swap very often)。 Speed is very consistent across the board,so that’s very good。 The USB3.0 cable is also very high-quality compare to other ones I have used.

Cons: Not related, but someone needs to come out with ThunderBolt docks.

1 out of 5 eggsDOCK DOES NOT RECOGNIZE HARD DRIVES

Pros: FAST DELIVERY

Cons: I HAVE TRIED 5 hard drives on this unit ,which work fine
on other usb 2.0 external cases. Have checked to make sure hard drives mate correctly with dock contacts, but no
hard drives are recognized. all hard drives are sata and vary in size from 750 gb to 3tb
