1 out of 5 eggsapparently it's not compatible with hard drives

Pros: Tech support provides some comic relief. device provides a modest paper weight.

Cons: won't read hard drives, which kind of defeats the purpose in owning this unless it's a paper weight.

Other Thoughts: in almost 25 years of working in IT/IS, I've heard some whoppers from tech support when I finally break down and call them.....but this company takes the cake.

I too was told like other reviewers that my drives were incompatible. I tried to explain to them that considering my Western Digital, Seagate, and even Toshiba hard drives all fail to mount with the device, their claim is kind some form of lunacy, but they insisted my drives were the problem. I suggested that maybe their docking station was incompatible with hard drives in general and was hung up on. I think I'm probably done buying anything from HooToo in the future unless it's an anvil.

Don't waste your money or time.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't bother

Pros: Fast to connect drives into enclosure

Cons: Didn't work.

Other Thoughts: I tried 2 of these before giving up. Manufacturer suggested my drives were incompatible. I tried Seagate, WD, Hitachi & Toshiba...even a Samsung. None showed up in Windows 7 or Windows XP. Waste of time and money.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy!

Pros: practically none

Cons: DOA'd multiple units

Other Thoughts: First unit DOA. RMA'd. 2nd unit DOA. Asked for Newegg refund this time. Tech dept. at HooToo said my drives were "incompatible". I tried Seagate, Toshiba, & Western Digital drives. None could be seen by Windows 7-64, though drivers installed automatically.

2 out of 5 eggsVery shoddy device

Pros: Like what the device is trying to accomplish. Like the usb 3.0 and the esata option

Cons: The esata port does not work. I bought this so I could hook up a Seagate 3TB HD to my DVR to expand storage. Disk doesn't read at all. I tried a few different cables.

The USB goes in and out as well. I was able to initialize the disk via USB, but it would keep connecting and disconnecting on it's own. Guess I'll try another option.

4 out of 5 eggsHooToo Docking \Station

Pros: The main reason I bought this item was for the eSATA connection I found that the eSATA was much faster that USB 3. So far the main trouble I have is my computer does not see the eSATA drive until I scan for hardware changes. Then it shows up and works fine. However, when I disconnect the drive it won't go away in my computer. If I click on the drive it won't let me out. The USB 3 works as it should. I am still happy that I bought the HooToo Docking \Station for the speed in the eSATA connection for cloning a complete hard drive.

Cons: It's just a hassle when I want to in and out of the eSATA drive.
