Pros: I no longer see any.

Cons: I should preface these comments with the fact that I am a tech support engineer for well known products. So I would like to think that user error is not a factor ....

I bought a replacement, thinking my previous unit malfunctioned due to age or use (previous unit was 1-1/2+ years old). I later found that a friends unit also died within a year (who I recommended to purchase this item to begin with btw).

I recently purchased a replacement (newer unit). I was not able to commission it for almost 3 weeks of receiving it, as I had been in and out of town (bad mistake).

The first thing I noticed, is that I could not use my old mounts (they were brass, new units are made of plastic). I also noticed that the antenna is no longer removable (older unit had an SMA).

So First things first - picture quality went out the Window. I could barely make out anything - and forget night mode. Picture was very grainy (should have been my first clue).

Another downfall is that the new app is atrocious to navigate. I was contemplating on requesting a return ... when guess what - yes, I went out of town again (last mistake).

Did they reduce the resolution on the servos movements?
The older unit was touch sensitive (moved and stopped almost instantly when pressing cursors). This one continues to move 1-2 seconds after pushing the button.
I should comment - it is not my network speed (I am on a 1 gig switch, and unit is hardwired (not over Wi-Fi). The movements were the same whether controlling over DDNS or while on LAN. So I assume it to be hard coded ... or a physical limitation?

Either way, this is all for naught. The unit completely broke within 2 weeks (of actual use). The servo over-stroked 180 degrees (camera is now facing 180 degrees from Logo on base). The unit makes a grinding / clicking noise and will no longer go to "home" position (boot-up default).

I am out the money spent on this item, as it is non-returnable. I guess this is what you get for purchasing an item online and not taking the time to commission it within the allotted time frame (who would have known).
