We record 24x7 so the fan is on all of the time. Live view from a desktop, laptop or mobile device times out and there is no setting to keep active for a certain period of time, even within our network. There should be an "always" on live view option or, at a minimum, the ability to set live view for a certain period of time before it times out (e.g. 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, etc.). My Dlink application could use some enhancements to make it more user friendly and to provide additional functionality.
