4 out of 5 eggsReally like it!

Pros: I bought this based on a video review I saw somewhere on YouTube, and I'm very impressed. The video quality is way above what I was expecting. Night time recording is a bit grainy (as expected), but still very usable.

Cons: Two metal plates acting as a heatsink is not enough. These get EXTREMELY hot while recording and I fear for the longevity of the processor underneath. Since this is to be installed as a dashcam, I will be putting on a low-profile heatsink to hopefully extend its life. The heat is the only major concern, and since it's in such a tiny package, I'm not surprised, but have to dock an egg for it.

Other Thoughts: I really like this recorder. Having a dashcam brings peace of mind. For the price, they really should have included a mounting system (suction for the windshield) or something. Alas they only include a bracket with a tripod-mount screw. All-in-all I like it, but if I were given the choice to do-over, I'd choose one with an included mounting system.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little camera

Pros: Great picture for a small camera. With a 64GB Micro SD card I can get 8 or more hours of high quality video and sound.

Cons: None really, though the lens cap is easy to lose.

Other Thoughts: I mounted the camera on a ball cap and video live events. Pick up a USB battery pack and a thin USB cable and you can go all day with the battery pack in a pocket.

The videos are easy to splice together with a program like AVIDemux.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT Dash Cam For Under $100.00

Pros: I just bought the Mobius camera and spent the past few hours getting it set up and installed in my car. Here is what I learned that may help you.

This is a GREAT little car dash camera for around $100.00. There are a few things for potential buyers to keep in mind.

1. Download the manual from the Internet.
2. Download the Quick Setup manual from the Internet.
3. Download the pc Setup software from the Internet.
4. Spend about 30 min reading all of that before you try to do anything.
5. If you purchased a 32 GB or 64 GB sd card, you will need to download a software program that will let your pc reformat the sd card from exFAT to FAT32 or the camera may not work.
6. Use the pc Setup software to update the firmware on the camera to the latest version. (Note the sd card HAS to be Fat32 to do this.)
7. Spend about another hour playing with all the camera settings by using the pc Setup software. (For example decide if you want the Mobius to automatically start recording when you plug it into the cars lighter socket or when it receives power. Decide if you want it to "loop" recording when the sd card is full. Decide what movie format type you want it to record as, etc.)
8. Mount the camera in your car. (If you use the typical suction cup mount, you will need to set the camera to "rotating the recording 180 degrees."
9. Go for a short drive while recording. When you get back home, either eject the sd card or take the Mobius out of it's clamp and look at the files on your pc to see if you have the camera pointed in the proper angle and direction. Make any needed adjustments. Wash, rinse, repeat until you are happy.

Cons: You need to have a basic knowledge in computers, reformatting SD cards, USB cables, etc.. to set this camera up and use it's many great features. It's not hard to do, it's just not for someone who simply wants a car dash cam that they can install in their car instantly after opening the package. I took about 1 -2 hours of reading, playing with the settings, etc.. Most of that was finding a program that would reformat a 64 GB sd card from exFAT to FAT32

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fun product

Pros: Compact - Great picture - Portability - Can use external power (Car and Battery pack)

Cons: Need read directions - then, trial and error

Other Thoughts: Used as dash cam and "walking" recorder during recent trip to Italy. Even as a handhold (with external battery pack) - got hours and hours of terrific video. PS Some good website /forums for help and ideas.

5 out of 5 eggsPleasant surprize

Pros: Solid build, solid performance, works fine with 64 GB brand name micro SD card. Value is in image quality, reliable performance, and user managed settings on pc via downloadable GUI . In a very small package, allowing for discreet use as carcam, etc. Rear flashing LED indicates recording mode when used as carcam.
Gui provides considerable flexibility in settings. The optional mounts are of good solid construction.

Cons: Rear led must be faced straight on to be visible in bright sunlight. Heatsinks get quite warm in warm weather use, or hot car interiors. May be best to not use in hot parked cars? No viewing screen.

Other Thoughts: Daytime video quality is great, nighttime is acceptable. Meets the litmus test of capturing legible license plate numbers during carcam use. Video images are sharp when paused.
