4 out of 5 eggsNot enough reviews of monitor arms

Pros: There simply aren't enough reviews/info out there for monitor arms - shopping for one is a pain since it feels like a total blind-shot. So here's mine

- VERY solid construction from the first pick-up; has a solid weight
- Tension is done by Allen bolts (included Allen key) and are large and beefy
- The tension bolts on the actual arm are easily reachable (good design here)
- The bottom clamp to attach to the desk is solid and easy to work with
- Construction/assembly is easy; nothing is more annoying than dealing with bad assembly when you just want to use your new product
- Lots of HEIGHT, something that most others are lacking
- Price; I don't understand why some of them out there are so expensive

Cons: There are quite a few annoyances though

- It's colored creamy, Apple products white. It's hard to ignore, especially when most computer hardware (like the monitor it's going to hold) is black
- The monitor mount had a cover that simply didn't fit, nor did any of the screws for my Dell U2312HM (and Dell monitors are pretty popular). Dell left screws in the monitor for potential mounts though, so good job Dell I guess
- I don't understand how anyone can wire anything through the arm; it's simply too narrow. It's as if it was designed for Apple products with it's color and such narrow spacing that only displayport connectors could fit easily
- The wire covers feel kind of useless. just pieces of plastic (but the arm doesn't look that bad without them anyway)
- The arm can not stand straight up or even close to it, it will always have a "<" shape to it

Other Thoughts: Personally I was looking for a stand to mount an accessory over my nvidia surround setup. Most arms simply dont' go high enough - this one did (barely) over my Acer H236HL's.

So since it's all behind my surround monitors, the color and lack of good wire tucking doesn't matter to me.

I was VERY impressed with it's easy but effective assembly and construction - that's what matters most.

So this is one of the few arms that actually has some height to it, so it filled my personal needs very well, while impressing me with better than expected construction and assembly.

Again - this arm is a very creamy white color, as if it was for Apple products (best idea of it's color). I just don't understand why they chose this color. Surely not going to match with most people's monitors and really be a deal-breaker for some.

I could see how the cons are off-putting to others not using it in the same manner as I.
