2 out of 5 eggsBought based on high reviews but disappointed - hasn't held up well

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Looks good.
Easy to open and build into.

Cons: Power button sticks - no way to correct. It gets stuck inside the case.
The fan covers have two layers - big holes outside and finer filter inside. This traps giant dust bunnies and the only way to remove them is take it apart & unscrew it from the back.
Hard drive carriage is small. Loading a third drive later is very difficult.
DVD bay door cover on front panel doesn't close tightly anymore - the plastic push lock mech is broken.
The blinking BLUE light is way too bright and annoying when its sleeping.

Other Thoughts: I think the plastic parts to make it look cool detract from it's real function and results in a lesser quality build.

3 out of 5 eggsFlashy, not the best design

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -Roomy, easy to build in
-Fan controller on the top of the case isn't something you often see on >$100 cases

Cons: -The 'triangular' or polygonal shape of the top and front panel is cumbersome and doesn't do much in terms of design. It just feels cheap and makes the case seem bigger than it is.
-The glossy, plastic build of the entire case is quite terrible. It picks up fingerprints like you wouldn't believe. A matte finish would make this a totally different case.
-No way to control the fanspeeds and LEDs seperately
-No included fan controller

Other Thoughts: Some people have reported the power button getting stuck, or the side panels being hard to get back on - I haven't had either of these problems. My biggest issue with the case is that it looks and feels dated. The H440 is a much better choice for almost any system builder; same brand, roughly the same price, much better looks and you can skip the plastic gloss finish.

Unless you're specifically going for a UFO theme, this one is an easy pass.

3 out of 5 eggsA decent little PC case

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: -looks great even though black gets finger prints easily
-lots of rooms for HDDS and SSDs
-lots of spots to add new fans
-window on the side panel
-plenty of cut outs and tie offs for cables, with enough room in the back to put the side on.

Cons: -Flimsy side panels were a pain ito get on the case flush. They seem to bend very easily causing problems putting them on.
-Grommets inside the case fallout extremely easily causing cable management to be a more trouble then it has to be,
-Tooless installation has little plastic inserts that sit inside the tray holding the drives in place. They fallout very easily. Wasnt to bad though.
-Power and reset buttons feel extremely cheap and like they might not last long
-Paint scratches extremely easily.
-2 different types of thumbscrews, can easily be put in the wrong spots if youre not paying attention (user error)

Other Thoughts: I have had less troubles building PC's with cheaper cases, but overall I think NZXT offers a pretty good deal at this price point. You get what you pay for like most things in life.

2 out of 5 eggsLooks great, but that power button...

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: I enjoyed the look of the case upon purchase and installation. I did not have any issues putting in a i5-3570k with a HYPER 212 Evo, and a GTX 660TI.

Cons: Within a year of use, the power button started to get stuck. To the point where it was near impossible to turn the computer on without having to wedge something inside the power button to get it to return to the up position.

Other Thoughts: Not sure if I did that poor of a job keeping the power button clear of any dirt or gunk, but with in a year with the computer getting turned off maybe 2-3 times a month, this shouldn't happen.

3 out of 5 eggsProblems you WILL 100% have!!!

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: This case is a pretty blatant ripoff of an Alienware design, but I purchased it exactly for that reason - awesome looking case, cheaper price, put it together myself. That's why you a reading this as well I imagine. It is doable, but PREPARE YOURSELF for some mods! It does NOT work naturally as intended.

Cons: On the downside, this case was an absolute NIGHTMARE for the high end equipment I tried to install inside of it. Do NOT believe that it will fit a FULL ATX, because it really won't.
The bed is too deep, the standoffs are too short (forcing you to buy others or bend the motherboard), and you will discover that the newer (shorter) SATA E ports on z97 motherboards will be blocked by the bump in the case next to the cable management holes, which are IMMEDIATELY next to a full size ATX motherboard. I am FORCED to mod the case in order to make it fit!! As will you be!! Which I'm sure will void any warranty or chance at getting help with this.

Other Thoughts: The only thing good about this case is that it looks cool. Sadly, there are few cases in the mid-price range that look the part for a gaming machine. It gets 3 eggs for having a nice look, good cable management, and easy modular design with the drive bays. It loses 2 eggs for false advertising and cutting corners with parts/design in the motherboard bed. I'd recommend finding another case that looks good with NO fans and buy/add your own. It will be so much more worth it!

4 out of 5 eggsGood case with one flaw

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Sleek design and super quiet, I can barley tell that it's on! Lots of additional space for fans if needed.

Cons: As others have noted the weakest part is the door. It takes a bit too much pressure to open and close it, luckily I don't need to open it often. Some have said the power button gets stuck easily, but I think this can be avoided by not pressing too hard. It's very sensitive and doesn't have to be pressed all the way for it to come on.

Other Thoughts: I chose this case because it looked nice without being too flashy. I really don't like cases that are lit up like Christmas trees. The power button is on the top left side, which makes it a little awkward if the PC is up high and your sitting to the right of it, but no big deal. Overall I am satisfied with it.

4 out of 5 eggsSo after 20 months with the Phantom 410...

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: It's a nice looking case, easy to work in. There is plenty of space and a decent amount of cable management in the back. The tool-free design works pretty well. My Zalman 9900MAX air cooler had plenty of clearance and the overall airflow of the case was pretty good with just the fans it came with. It has a 3 speed fan controller (but I just kept it on low).

Cons: --The power button is poorly designed. Mine started getting stuck in after about 3 months of use, and I don't shut down very often. It sticks because it was designed as a diamond shape and the corner gets wedged when pressed a bit too far, which is quite easy to do.

--The front fans aren't filtered so the front of the case just gets filthy (non-removeable grill). HDD bays enter/exit from rear side of case. Looks cleaner but ends up being a bit more of a hassle having to go through the back panel.

--The door latch feels a bit lacking and it's a bit difficult to press to open.

Other Thoughts: I finally just replaced this with something a bit bigger and fancier, but for ~100 bucks, this 410 is an all around good case with good value. Aside from my sticky power button, mine is still in perfect condition. Nothing has broken, fallen off or failed. Careful with the power button though. ;-)

4 out of 5 eggsHighly Recommended

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: Lots of back panel space for routing cables behind your board and lots of tie ups there. Intelligently laid out. The steel chassis is solid. Even the plastic parts are sturdy. Reasonably priced for such a well built case. No sharp edges. Soft, malleable but tough grommets are great for acoustic dampening. The NZXT fans that come with the case are high quality and very quiet.

Cons: The plastic top and front shell are plastic, and a bit cheaply made. You will need to do a bit of case modding, including chopping off the part of the small top board that controls the three prong fans if you want to install a Corsair H110 280mm liquid cooling solution. The power supply fits on the bottom of the case and the air intake on your power supply will be right next to anything that occupies the last pcie slot on your mobo.

Other Thoughts: Best case I've ever owned.

5 out of 5 eggsThis case is amazing for starting out

This review is from: NZXT Phantom 410 Series CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Pros: It is great for its price, has good space until you run out of expansion slot room, but is able to hold most anything today you throw at it with minimal modding (Kraken x61).

Cons: I wish that there would make an updated version to be a little more versatile to their own manufacturing. But still good and caught up for today.
