4 out of 5 eggsGetting the jump on summer

Pros: Keep in mind I've yet to go through any sort of significant heat wave yet, and at best, had it on to cool a room from about 80°F/26.6°C, in a room roughly 9'x12'.

That being said, it's cooled the room down well. It's lowest cooling setting of 64 is nice, but by no means chillingly cold. I have a feeling once summer hits it will easily keep the room comfortable as long as it is kept on, but not crisply cold enough to keep a chill in the air long enough to have it turned off in the heat.

The window vent frame is nice due to me having horizontally sliding windows. The frame they include has an extender (which makes it easily fit both large and small windows) and will fit both vertical and horizontal closing windows. Which is one of the main reasons I decided to get a portable as opposed to a window. It's too much of a hassle to fix a window like that to a stationary conditioner.

I enjoy the top digital display. It has an upside-down gradient of colors that cycles while it's running, I enjoy the color and light, some may not.

The internal fan can push a solid, strong, as well as large volume of air. The cooling could be better, but is comfortably strong as well. The only slight I can give it is at the lowest temperature, I personally expect it to be a tad colder, if the room I had it in were larger, I can see this not doing as well.

For only having it about a week, and having no real actual strong heat yet, I think it was worth the money. I wish it was a tad bit colder, but for the size of the room I have, it's more than cold enough to make the room chilly.

Cons: The only knock I can give it is the lack of real cooling power. Not to say that it's not cold at all.

The best I can explain it is if I wanted to turn my room into a freezer, I could not do that with this air conditioner. I could cool the room so that it's super comfortable and chilly, but not store meat. Sometimes I enjoy almost literal artic air, and I don't think this unit can push that kind of air.

Other Thoughts: At the 239 price tag, I feel like it was well worth it. I have a small studio that can be cooled by the unit, so if you're thinking about getting it for a medium sized room, you might want to either get the 9000 BTU unit, or perhaps one that can cool a bit better than this one.

I don't want to give the impression that this unit cannot cool, quite the opposite, just not at the temperature that will help keep a room larger than what it is suggested for slightly cool.

I like the design, and again, for the size of room I have, it is perfect as long as it doesn't break down later on.
