Other Thoughts: Had this switch for a couple of weeks now. Setup couldn't be easier - just plug it in! Has been working great so far with no issues. Also appreciated that it came with some screws for mounting, as I have it mounted behind a bookcase in my livingroom. Would definitely recommend this switch.

Pros: Extremely easy to setup - just plug in power cord and network cables!

Pros: Great value and power efficient. Have not had any problems with this switch.

Cons: I wish there was a lock on the power connector. Both LEDs blink during activity, visually busy.

Other Thoughts: I may be spoiled by Zyxel products which have a steady connection status LED and the activity blinks at different rates based on activity. Bought this switch after a move to DSL/IPTV which required me to plug the set top boxes to the router.

Pros: Eight extra ports, Newegg as usual is awesome, in both their products and service. Netgear on the other hand is not. At least not for what I purchased.

Cons: This is my first Netgear product, might be my last Netgear product.I have decent internet, 1 gig download speed constant. I was running a 1 gig router, but did not have enough ports, I purchased this switch to add the additional ports, unfortunately this switch slows my internet speed to less than 87 mb's. Thats a far cry from 1 gig!!!!, I tried only connecting one pc to it and no difference, this thing is killing my internet. I sent Netgear a message, waiting to hear back, no answer as of yet. With just one pc connected my speed drops from 1 gig to less than 87 mb, with 3 gaming desktops, one Xbox 1 and two laptops we cannot use this my download speed drops to the old dial up speed, I know that the more you connect, the more speed you will lose, but over 900 mb's, are you serious? if this is normal for these switches from Netgear, then I wasted $47.00. Not too much to lose, the last switch I had before it finally stopped working was a Cisco, absolutely no problems and just a minor slow down in speed. I'm still happy with Newegg, it's not their fault and I will continue to purchase from them, but no more Netgear products, I'll purchase another switch but it's going to be a Cisco product.

Other Thoughts: Would I recommend this to a friend?, no.
Will I purchase another Netgear product? No, I dont think so.
I live in Alaska, it's not worth the trouble or time it will take to rma this for only $47.00, it's cheaper and faster to just order another of a more trusted brand.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what just happened. I plugged my computer in to this thing, did a speed test and My download speed is 17 – 20 Mbps faster than what I pay forI I don't know how these switches operate, but you can't beat that for quality!

Pros: Easy, non-technical installion. Just plug in the power cord, connect up to 7 devices, and connect one port to your router. Instantly ready to use.No limitations sending/receiving between connected devices or between switch and router. Just a great product. Been using it for about 8 months, no problems.

Other Thoughts: Our home network is a mixture of wired ethernet PCs, powerline adapters, a network-oriented digital TV tuner which is connected to the switch and is, therefore. available to any computer on the network which has either Windows Media Center or Kodi/XBMC, a USB printer, and several devices using wi-fi. With this switch connected to our TP-Link Archer C9 router everything works OK. A magicJack VOIP unit is also connected directly to the router and there are no interference problems. The router was OK on its own but, once we had more than 4 wired devices to connect, we needed to add a switch. This Netgear GS-108 is basically an updated version of a longstanding model with a good reputation so it should be OK for years to come. Note: if you plan to connect wired surveillance cameras there's a Netgear switch like this one which also provides power-over-ethernet (PoE) to run your cameras.

Pros: No software setup - no software configuration required - plug and play.

Cons: I note no cons at this time.

Other Thoughts: Netgear is a brand I rely on. With few exceptions, every netgear product I have performs or has performed well. Any issues I've ever had has been handled well by their support group. Not much else to add at this point.

Pros: Solid and sturdy, Great Tx and Rx speeds, No fuss, On/Off switch

Cons: Wish it had more than 8 ports

Other Thoughts: I've been running this switch for about 6 months now. It just sits there and blinks happily, doing its job on the corner of my desk. Never needs rebooting,
