1 out of 5 eggsStay Away from ASUS

Pros: Looks like a motherboard

Cons: Performs like junk.

Other Thoughts: This motherboard is junk. It will not post using either GSkill or Corsair popular memory brands. Always nice to spend time building a system, installing the CPU cooler, hooking up all cabling nice and neat, then to turn on and the motherboard not work. Followed by countless hours troubleshooting. ASUS products junk and will stay away from any of their motherboards in the future.

1 out of 5 eggsUSBs are flawed

Pros: Intelligent CPU Turbo Mode: I have a 3.2 Ivy Quad hooked into this along with a H90 Corsair Liquid Cooler, CPU running so cold i could get it up to 4.2 GHZ without exceeding 50 C and this was automatic due to CPU Q Control

Cons: Bad LAN Port
Bad Usbs, only 2 worked
Bad reset switch pin

Other Thoughts: i did order another, hopefully better luck with new one

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Customer Service

Pros: Worked for a month and a half.

Cons: The first PCI-e slot started to malfunction after a month and a half as well as random errors occurring. The board also doesn't overclock very well as I'm down to a 4.5GHz clock from a 4.8GHz clock on a previous board.

Other Thoughts: Asus support still has not processed my RMA request and I have not received the RMA form after a full two weeks. I am very disappointed in the service I have received and the board. I have owned several Asus products and none have performed so poorly.

1 out of 5 eggsNot a good board.

Pros: Worked for a month or two.

Cons: Lots of random BSOD's and freezes.

Other Thoughts: Like many others, I have had loads of random BSOD's and freezes with this board. Went through a full battery of tests on other hardware, tried different BIOS settings, tried completely fresh install of win 7, got a new power supply, flashed the bios, still crashing. Ran fine for a few months then all the problems started.

At this point I am thinking the culprit must be a bad mobo. Worst experience I have had in 10 plus years of building my own systems.

Unfortunately problems only started after 30 day return policy.

Weird, I am a big Asus fan, but this design is a real lemon.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

I am sorry that you are having issues in this matter. At your earliest convenience, please contact me through email regarding this case. Within the email, please include any troubleshooting steps tried and your computer part list. 3573567.

1 out of 5 eggsLess than a year old, tapping out

Pros: Worked right out of the box, easy install/setup. initial driver disc was easy to use.

Cons: Have had this thing less than a year, and am now having some serious troubles. random crashes, BSOD, lock-ups.

i have replaced the graphics card, ram etc and am now looking to test the power supply. but from what i'm experiencing and what a few more experienced builders have said, combined with a few of the reviews here, it seems i will have to swap out my mobo which i'm really not looking forward to doing.

1 out of 5 eggsThis is a Terrible Motherboard

Pros: None, this motherboard never worked I was ever able to checkout it out. This Motherboard was DOA. It never loaded the BIOS, it never POSTed, no beeps nothing, the fans operated that was it. Took me 30 days of troubleshoot and having another experienced builder looking at it to determine it was indeed DOA

Cons: This motherboard sucked. By the time I understood it was truly a DOA motherboard the 30 return policy was over.

Other Thoughts: After I had problems I read other reviews and saw the same issues with this motherboard. If I had read those before purchase I would never have bought this Asus product. I own many fine Asus stuff. This MoBoard is not one of them.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy it

Pros: Worked for about a year

Cons: This thing crapped the bed after about a year. My system randomly freezes and BSOD on me. I have swapped out memory and vid card with known working spares I have. Reinstalled windows vanilla and it still is freezing. Ascertaining a mobo problem is not very easy but I have tried it with every hardware and software combo I can think of and eventual the system craps out on this board every time.

Other Thoughts: Lame

1 out of 5 eggsNot working after 3 months

Pros: Good when it worked. Then restarted it one day, and was not able to get the computer to boot. I have other ASUS motherboards(non-UEFI) and they still work great.

Cons: ASUS technical support and RMA. They make you pay to send it. Sent it in 3 times for an RMA, and returned with the same problem. Sent it in to there "overclocking" team, and came back with the same issue. Then put in an external video card, and it doesn't support the boot device. Tried to set the QM startup info in every way, and it would still would not support the boot device which is the video card??? really??? the video card is not a supported boot device. make sure that you get additional coverage in case you have to replace the motherboard because ASUS's support really is not good at all.

Other Thoughts: make sure you have a way besides ASUS technical support to replace the motherboard if needed. Also make sure you have a "compatible" video card that is able to boot...

1 out of 5 eggsAsus Support Sucks

Pros: not really sure... I guess the fact it can boot is a pro...

Cons: The sata 6gbs ports came broken. There are compatibility issues with some programmes and bios. I am unable to run virtual machines. Configuring and installing the motherboard was a huge pain. Not only was the sata ports broken, but it refused to post. This motherboard is rubish. But on top of that Asus support denied an RMA for it, saying its Neweggs problem. This is not the first time I have run in to difficulties with customer service.

If you are thinking about buying this motherboard don't. It's not worth the hassles.

Other Thoughts: customer service could be improved as well as product quality.
