4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: I couldn't be more happier with this board. 5 pci-e slots, 8 sata ports. Updating the BIOS was easy and this board takes my 3570K @ 4.00 ghz no problem

Cons: none as of yet.

Other Thoughts: wish it had a proper UEFI BIOS that i could use my mouse with, buts thats a minor issue

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: -So many features that it screams quality
-Four-way SLI capable (Make sure your case accommodates it)
-It is an EVGA product. In my opinion the highest quality products out there
-Tons of on board four-pin fan connectors for the quietest and most efficient cooling
-Three separate BIOS
-Many more features to point out, worth reviewing full specs on EVGA's Website and Newegg's board review below.

Cons: Considering this is as good a four-way SLI board as you will find; if you do choose to go that route as I did, you will lose access to the USB 3.0 internal connector as well as the internal sound pin-out for the front of your case as the video cards will not otherwise fit. This is one area where particularly with the USB 3.0 port, ASRock has come up with a much better solution. What happened EVGA?

Other Thoughts: I've been building high-end PC's forever and frankly, I am surprised at some of the negative reviews. This, like all other EVGA boards is outstanding. I acquired mine directly from EVGA as at the time they had the best price, and while with other brands I generally test each board before installing it, true to form, this one fired right up when I first turned on my build which was after it was completely assembled and ready to put back on the case's side covers. I have lost track of how many EVGA boards I have used and I can only think of two occasions where an RMA was required and in one case, it was my fault because I damaged the pins in the CPU socket which while EVGA charged for, they still covered the board under warranty. Other than that, I’ve only had one board fail during the burn-in period and they replaced it without having to run through any hoops and to top it off, you can call EVGA tech support 24/7 and within a matter of minutes, talk to a live person that not only knows what they are talking about, but actually speaks-are you ready? English! And if they are unusually backed up, you can leave your telephone number and they will call you back. I do not recall ever waiting for more than 10 minutes before someone called back. Can you even envision such an experience from ASUS? I have discarded ASUS boards because I quickly realized that the odds of resolving an RMA before Intel came up with a new CPU were slim to none. Just in case, I do not work for EVGA, I am simply an enthusiast that wants value for his money. EVGA cannot do wrong in my eyes if reasonable in my expectations. My guess is that most of the people that have had as many problems as they claim, it is likely because they are in over their head or are upset at the vendor because the box arrived crushed. I consider myself as being very particular and demanding. Is EVGA perfect? Not by a long shot, but they are a serious organization that does focus on quality, performance and customer care like no other. In a market so competitive, they will always have my business because inexpensive does mean cheap. EVGA is not inexpensive but you get your bang for the buck and I am happy to see that they have gone into producing other peripherals. I am disappointed that Newegg has chosen to no longer sell this excellent motherboard as I feel if they did it as a result of the ratings; they threw out the baby with the bath water.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board

Pros: EvGa makes Excellent everything with top notch 24/7 Tech Support. My NEW EvGa Z77 FTW, MoBo is NO exception!! You can always tell a good manufacture from poor, by the LOVE they ive theirs products, In the case of a Motherboard, look for Companies that have a good solid Forum, and release new BIOS on a regular basis as needed. Like EvGa, this MoBo has had lots of updates to simply make it better. They Listen to their customers and make sure your getting a great product!! No Issues with my board ever. Quality Built and USER friendly. Great OC'er too!! Supports Gen version3 gfx, USB3, triple BIOS, SATA3-6., can run 4 way SLI, 5 16x v3 GFX lanes. It's as state of the art a you can get now.

Cons: Can't think of one con. I just set it up turn on Turbo, and with my i7 3770 Ivy Bridge 3rd GEN processor, it goes from 3.4 @ idle to about 4GHZ, which IMHO is plenty FAST. So CONS= NONE!!

Other Thoughts: Love this Board, Love EvGa, the best n GFX soon to be the BEST in Motherboards too, IMO!!I was and still am a BIG GigaByte Motherboard fan, but this board I gotta say is as good if not better than GigaBytes top of the line MoBo's. I used to build only "abit" PC's. I loved "abit" used them for years, but they folded and I've tried DFI, and Mostly GigaByte Mobo's since then, a few other off brand boards i never liked much, UNTIL I discovered EvGa FTW Series Motherboards, ude them for my last TWO builds and have NO plans of Looking back. I am an Official EvGa FTW MoBo fan now!!

2 out of 5 eggsDon't just a book by its cover

Pros: The Looks, It was between this and the Asus maximus V. Hard choice, but decided to go down with Evga on the matter of already having 3 evga gtx 680 cards. Plus the Maximus was a little bit steeper on the price range than this. So decided to go Red & Black on Evga all the way. For the Win right?

Cons: Never judge a book by its cover. Almost 400.00 price tag peice of garbage. Should of went Asus. First one ( spanking new) was DOA, had it Rma with Newegg. Second one came by, brand spanking new agian. Rub my hand together and cross my finger. BAM!!! DOA agian, wouldn't even light up or power up. Though it was my PSU, tested my component with a z68 setup and worked. So it was the EVGA board. Rma agian, 3rd board, and yes it worked. Well for 3 days and then while I was listening to some music while browsing on the internet. Screen went black. Never turned back on. Even the Debug display doesn't lit up. Call customer support, A guy name Paul R. gave me attidude when all I ask is that, I really burned some money for 3 boards already, and if I can do a advance step up RMA. the guy just told me that my knowledge of computer was poor and that I got the wrong department, told me to go to the evga website and do some research. Could of transfer me or give me a # to call? Evga, you let me down. It is time to start looking at other vendors.

Other Thoughts: Looks elsewhere, look at the eggs? Don't waste time with Evga, poor customer service, poor product, poor support.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: This board overclocks very well. I have had zero issues with this board so far. Every bios release it gets a little better.

Cons: Stability issues with four sticks of ram(still). Does not play well with my Corsair Dominator Platinum at stock speeds/voltage. I have to up the voltage on my ram just a bit to get it stable. No flashy uefi bios. Marvel 6GB/s controller noticeably slower than the intel controller (Marvel controller limited by 4x pcie bus)

Other Thoughts: Cant really complain to much about the cons. EVGA cannot test their boards with every available stick of RAM on the market. Overall Im a satisfied customer.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Company, Horrible Product

Pros: This board on paper is exactly what i need. It is also backed by a company that in the past has very much cared for their consumers and provides quick phone access with English help from US or EU.

I love the colors and the layout as well as the tech on the board.

Cons: The bios releases are horrible. Each one breaks something to fix something else. I have never in all my years with EVGA seen such issues until they started working with the UEFI bios (no other vendor seems to have too much issue with UEFI though). BIOS 112 has primary PEG selection issues, some voltage values are buggy when being set (sent in a video to EVGA). I skipped BIOS 117 and went to 121; issues with PLL Override and power switching frequency changes will NOT save, and they break XMP ram from working at all. at least with Corsair Vengeance kits which are very common modules. BIOS 121 is also prone to putting the system into boot loops even when not changing overclock related settings, thought this seems to not be frequent.

The graphic controller chip on the South Bridge area of the board has either completely died, or become intermittent on 2 boards i have tried (RMA, now on my 2nd RMA). Anytime i run more than 2 cards, i crash (this is with no overclocks), and yes i have 5 PCIx compatable cards and have swapped as well as changed ports on the board without success.

Other Thoughts: Following the EVGA Z68 Ivybridge update, both the Z68 and Z77 boards have gone downhill since moving to UEFI bios. Also since there are a ton of problems with getting working sleep modes (with or without overclocks sometimes) and issues with the Z77 Lucid Virtu causing systems not to boot up, severe loss of performance, or just generally impossible to install and get working, as well as low support; i can not recommend this product at all.

I will be trying EVGA again when Haswell chips come out, but if after the first 2 months the boards have major issues i will be dropping EVGA for motherboards.

I have changed between the 2 Z77 boards and using my backup Z68 so many times that my less than 1 month old new Phantom 820 White paint is literally chipping off at the hinges of where the case opens. : (

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Nice Feature set
Looks good
Tech support replied quickly (though without a fix)

Cons: Turns on for a second and shuts off.
CPU is known to be good, tested in another system, Same with all other components.

Contacted EVGA and they said they would provide me a quote once the board arrives. It is new! Should be warranty.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I apologize for this experience. As far as a "quote" goes that only applies if there is physical damage to the board, as that is not covered by the warranty. If the board has no physical damage then there should be no quote or fees involved. I apologize for the confusion. Please contact us a 888-881-3842 if you have any questions.

Thank you,
Brandon B

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome. Awesome product.

Pros: Excellent motherboard from EVGA. Newegg shipped the product very quickly and I have had no issues with this board at all. I doubted purchasing this with all the "issues" people have been having with it. I picked this up from Newegg for $200 and LOVE it. Running my Intel SSD and WD 1TB HDD on SATA III and this thing flies. Purchased this along with the i7 3770K processor and haven't had any issues at all. I've been running this solid for several months and waited to post the review. Thanks again Newegg!!!

Cons: The people who don't know how to properly build a PC.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat features!

Pros: Great features on an enthusiast board! The triple BIOS is a convenient feature for different performance profiles.

The clear CMOS, Start, Reset, buttons are convenient especially for overclocking.

The BIOS does require a good understanding of the settings and their effects. I am a very satisfied EVGA customer over the years!

EVGA has great products and superb tech support when needed!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: I wish the manual was more detailed and contained explanations for the features, and settings in the BIOS. I don't consider this a con.

With a board this sophisticated it is easy to mistake a wrong user setting for a board problem. Additional details in the manual will prevent this. Manufacturer (EVGA) , please note.

2 out of 5 eggsMobo should be great but...

Pros: Really liked the features.
Really liked the looks.
Really liked the layout.
Got a great deal on it.

Cons: BIOS hinders what should be a great mobo.
Could not monitor CPU temps except with the beta BIOS.
Technical support unhelpful for CPU temp issue.

Other Thoughts: Overall a disappointing purchase, thought EVGA would be a good choice to build my system but not so much.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

There has been a recent bios release for this board, Version 1.17, that contains a large amount of fixes. Please try this update.

Thank you,
Brandon B
