1 out of 5 eggsDefective and they know it

Pros: Powerful card, and able to run most games on high-ultra settings... for a bit

Cons: This card has a KNOWN voltage defect where the GPU emits a high-pitched electrical whine when running even the most basic games, resulting in computer BSODs, crash-restarts, display driver failures, artifacting on even just the Windows desktop, and even an inability to play YouTube videos without completely nerfing the system (mp4 decoder is run through the GPU). I have found a ton of other people online who have had these exact same problems and not a one of them has been able to solve it. I RMAd this card once because I suspected it was at fault, but when I got it back and the problems persisted, I went ahead and systematically RMAd every part in my computer trying to find the root cause. Now I'm down over $150 in just SHIPPING costs for the various RMAs, and nowhere closer to solving the problem. If Gigabyte truly did replace my card, then the problems are inherent and this card is an absolute brick. I need my rig for my work, and this paperweight has set me back months and hundreds of dollars. Never buying Gigabyte products ever again.

1 out of 5 eggsGigabyte RMA Horrible

Pros: Handled games smoothly

Cons: Gigabyte repair is not worth buying this product. My DVI port went out so I sent it back to Gigabyte's repair center. After waiting two weeks, they told me that my board was warped and the warranty was gone. Now my GPU is broken and they will not work with me

Other Thoughts: Don't buy

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth dealing with Gigabyte RMA

Pros: The card itself was excellent when it worked. I found the Gigabyte cooler to be a very nice design that kept the card cool while also being pretty quiet. I didn't bother trying to tweak or OC anything since I'm only playing at 1680x1050 so I left things stock and was thrilled! Everything was going swimmingly until I started getting artifacts on the screen and sent it in for a RMA.

Cons: A full month after receiving the card I get an email from Gigabyte saying they can't repair it, but they'll offer me a R9 280X as a replacement. I'm fine with that and replied to their email saying as much. I don't hear anything for a week so I called them and apparently they're out of the replacement card they offered me. And they're out of the 7950. It'll be 2-4 weeks waiting time and then they'll send me a 7950. So after offering me an upgraded card they don't even have they rescinded their offer and I still have to wait quite a bit more. This was the first piece of Gigabyte tech I've purchased and while I really enjoyed it while it worked it will be the last after this tech support experience. I know they took some time off for the holidays and that the ATI cards are in short supply due to mining but I'm really missing my card, and I'm really annoyed that they offered me a newer card only to withdraw that offer and let me know there would be additional delays.

1 out of 5 eggsGigabyte's slow warranty support

Pros: The card worked well until it sparked the VRM's repeatedly and finally died.

Cons: Card died in less than two months. Gigbyte warranty support is extremely slow to respond and correct or replace. I have alot of Gigabyte product and it performs well. I would hesitate to buy Gigabyte again based on their slow support response. In comparison Newegg support is instantaneous.

1 out of 5 eggsDID NOT HONOR REBATE!

Pros: BEWARE. REBATE IS NOT HONORED. If my rebate had been honestly, this would have been a great price/performance deal but I sent in my UPC and paperwork within the time limit and selected a no-wait rebate. When I didn't receive my rebate after several weeks, I contacted the rebate processor only to have them claim they didn't receive my rebate paperwork. When I pressed, they then said that I had 30 days from my registration to challenge the status of my rebate and contact them about the issue. I told them I made a photocopy of the UPC i sent int but they said that the manufacturer doesn't allow them to address a rebate past its term. What a load of stonewalling. I have never mailed in a rebate claim and had the postal service not deliver it.

Cons: I purchased this with the understanding that the terms of sale (mail in the required paperwork and UPC and get a rebate back) would be honored in good faith. Instead, it has turned into a frustrating waste of my time and money. Now I am out $25, bringing my costs within range of a 7970 instead. BEWARE!

Other Thoughts: I have been a n\Newegg customer for years and purchased high-end Gigabyte motherboards in the past and have been very happy with their quality, which is why I purchased this Gigabyte video card. However, I am NEVER purchasing another Gigabyte product again that involves any rebate. I no longer trust that the rebate will be honored. This is the type of behavior that gives rebates a bad reputation.

1 out of 5 eggs1 month of use and dying.

Pros: Was a great card, WAS.

Cons: Been using this card for about a month now. For the first 30 days it was unbelievable but now has multiple problems with screen tearing and flickering during any game WITH v-sync turned on.

1 out of 5 eggsWORST GPU

Pros: NONE

Cons: Absolutely disgusted with Gigabyte and their inability to quality control their products. I will be sure to never buy again from Gigabyte. Screen tearing and flickering occur during every game regardless of settings. I thought buying a GPU that was almost 300 at the time would have some sort of quality clearly i was mistaken.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware, Games won't make it to you!

Pros: Card is a good card for such a crummy company

Cons: BUYER BEWARE!! Gigabyte and Radeon make a habit out of selling cards with game promotions, then never following through on them. It sells more cards I'm sure, but in the end they act like "you're the only person this has happened to, therefore you must be lying" when in fact it's a profit center for them. Sometimes the codes won't be included at all, sometimes the codes they send won't validate.
A friend of mine had the exact same experience, with his Gigabyte 7950 with the "reloaded promotion" I bought my card thinking his problem was just a fluke, and a different promotion would be different, but I had the same issue. When you get a card, the "games promotions" don't work a lot of the time, so you think you're getting $150 worth of free games and you get nothing. They will not FOR ANY REASON re-issue, refund, troubleshoot or investigate with their game promotions, it's in the fine print, it's 100% your fault and they won't do anything to fix it.

They also don't honor multiple purchases, if you buy one card from them, make sure you use a different name/address if you buy another b/c they'll say "Only one promotion per household" and cheat you out of another set of games you could give away to friends. Luckily I bought mine with American Express and they refunded my money (as they don't stand for such fraudulent behavior)

Only shopping buying EVGA video cards from now on, those guys go to the ends of the earth to make sure the customer is satisfied.

Other Thoughts: Based on many of the reviews archived with their cards, the whole Radeon/Gigabyte combination is a "Once we have your money, you're dead to us" setup. I wouldn't support this type of behavior for anything. I'd rather deal with the limitations of NVIDIA cards and go through a company that at least puts up some veneer of caring if the customer lives or dies.

1 out of 5 eggsnot so good

Pros: plays games on high settings when working

Cons: when I got it, the pictures appeared somewhat distorted. I wasn't too picky so I left it alone. the problem is now getting worse. the distortion gets very intense during games and makes games unplayable. trying to RMA through gigabyte but who knows how that's going to turn out

Other Thoughts: don't bother buying it. go with a good brand like evga, msi, asus...
