3 out of 5 eggsHD radeon 7870 (crossfire)

Pros: one of the cards works excellently pleased.

Cons: ordered two cards recently installed both of them system continued to crash and so i tested everything (reinstall windows, latest drivers, different HDD, ext...) so I tried each one separately ran tests on both of them I am now aware there is a faulty card because it continues to crash by itself and the other works perfectly so I now need to send it back for replacement ( how should I got about this)

5 out of 5 eggsWow!

Pros: These cards run very, very well. I was a little leary at first...wondering if it would keep up with my GTX480. Wonder no more, it smokes that old card, and for half the price. I'm sure the 7950s and whatnot are great cards, but for the money this card is very impressive. I have no regrets. Saved a couple hundred bucks when I picked up a pair of these verses a pair of 7950s. Very glad I went "cheap" haha.

Cons: None yet. FYI, even those these are listed as midrange cards (whatever), they are quite long. Another 1/2 inch and I couldn't fit them in my mid tower. Measure your case is all I'm saying.

Other Thoughts: Umm, they are pretty quiet, very fast, and don't get hot at all from what I have seen. I'm running a pair pushed by a 1090t since the 8350 CPUs are still on backorder. AMD might be a little behind on the CPUs, but man can they make a graphics card, lol.

Pros: Not sure

Cons: I didn't relized that the card was a PCI-Express 3.0 vice a 2.0. Had to do a RMA for a refund.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

This card is a PCIe Gen 3 card and backward compatible with Gen 2 slots therefore if your motherboard can handle only Gen 2 cards it will still be able to accept this video card.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the product, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at usreview@msi.com and we will be more than happy to assist you, thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: Fast, runs cool, works great in crossfire, works perfect with 4800x900 eyefinity with 1 or 2 cards..

All games I have thrown at them can be maxed out @ 4800x900 with no FPS loss.

Cons: Nothing against the cards, but AMD is annoying me with their drivers, not keeping up with their own hardware when it comes to driver support..

Now they decide not to release monthly drivers, so thats not helping..

12.8 drivers have an annoying glitch with firefox and crossfire that makes a black screen ..then firefox will crash.. among other driver related "issues" ..

Other Thoughts: Bought 2 for crossfire!

5 out of 5 eggsZOMG

Pros: zOMG!!! plays BF3 and Skyrim on ultra settings without hiccup BF3 stays around 50fps without PCIe 3.0 (my mobo only has 2.1) sometimes drops to 40 for a millisecond and sometimes jumps to the high 70's. Card is GIANT. Had to cut out one of my drive bays with wire cutters to make ample room for this card, Its massive (thats what she said). Good card, worth it, if you have PCIe 3.0 you'll probably get more out of it than I am. Drivers are good, no problems so far, I don't know what people are doing that say the drivers are bad, but it all works as it should for me.

Cons: It doesn't cook me bacon when I wake up.

2 out of 5 eggsCaveat

Pros: Relatively cool and quiet. Reasonably powerful. Plays BF3, Crysis 2, Metro 2033, Witcher 2, and Skyrim on highest settings at 1920/1080. That is until it Crashes/Freezes. The latest drivers have not changed the instability problems. See below.

Cons: I gave my 1st card a 4 star review on the day i received it as i was very excited to have it. Random crashes and freezes later caused me to doubt the drivers but after several days of troubleshooting and forum searches the problems persisted. I was forced to RMA the card and decided to try my luck with another MSI card rather than get a refund. BAD DECISION! The new card causes instability in all my games and even my computer becomes unstable after about 1/2 hour of playing games causing CTD'S and very low scores in 3dMark Vantage and 3dMark11 as well as all my games and benchmarks. apparently i cannot RMA a second card so i'm stuck with this lemon.

Other Thoughts: I made dang sure the problem did not lie elsewhere before spending the time, money and effort to RMA the 1st card. At first i thought it might be my Seasonic 520 watt PSU but testing shows the system is not drawing more than 350 watts of power from the wall . My other graphics cards cause no problems at all. Despite my problems i still think/hope it is just bad luck and not reflective on MSI graphics cards. I did read several positive professional reviews of this card before i decided to purchase it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Performance, Even Better Price

Pros: -Very cool and quite card

-Max temperatures of 55 degrees while playing
battlefield 3, 66 degrees while playing GTA 4 with
several extreme graphics mods

-77 degrees max in furmark

-Can max out all games with 60fps

-Overclocks to 1150mhz core, 1400mhz memory all on stock voltages (for me at least)

-Very nice looking

-Dark brown PCB

-Nice high quality components as expected by MSI

-Draws at max about 200 watts under load

Cons: -When the fan speed gets above 55% it starts getting audible, but that only happens once in a while

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs everything I throw at it on max settings at 1920x1080, stays cool (maxed out in gaming at 59 degrees with fans running around 50%), OC's like a champ. I have it running at 1200 MHz core clock and 1450 MHz memory clock with at 1225 mV (stock is 1218 mV) with no problems. Exceptional card!

Cons: None that I've experienced so far, except that it's available for $20 less now than when I bought it.

Other Thoughts: Especially with the price drops due to the 660ti's release, this is an excellent card at the price point at stock settings, and its value only increases when overclocking is taken into account. I'll be picking up another one in a year or so and trying out CrossfireX if the price stays low.
