4 out of 5 eggsStill Running Strong

Pros: Bumped up my Windows Performance Index to 7.7 (for the graphics) But the best part is that I can run the games I enjoy with ultra detail and no jitter. Same goes for my movies.

Cons: No HDMI output. Not really a con but after buying it I realized it would have come in handy. I'm stretching here.

Other Thoughts: I reserve 5 eggs for the extreme wow factor.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the review, we really appreciate you taking the time to write it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Old Card

Pros: Great old card as long as you use EVGA Precission or some kind of fan Controller while gaming, this card gets Hot! Runs BORDERLANDS 2 At lower settings, no physx at 30+fps to give you an idea of this things limited abilty, great for cheep gaming gpu bought used.

Cons: XFX offered a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY that was transferable, we did register this but since then XFX has removed our REGISTRATION we cannot be found on the website any more, this is suspect and very shady of them to do, it is not honorable. The card is not always stable and we wanted to see if XFX could fix it but they are shady as Heck.. Stinking Scammers!

Other Thoughts: This card has served us well, my kid used it and enjoyed but I think he should enjoy some physx so we will upgrade him

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Angel, we are happy to honor all existing warranties, please contact us at neweggsupport@xfxforce.com for further assistance.

Thank you for your great review.

1 out of 5 eggsWill never again buy XFX

Pros: None whatsoever

Cons: This graphics card has been a problem for me since I bought it. It started dropping fps within weeks after installation. Since then it has deteriorated to a nearly unusable state, with regular black screens and artifacts. After spending the past five months complaining about it to the manufacturer I have gotten nowhere. Unlike newegg they can not issue a advance RMA or even a loaned part while they take their sweet time repairing/replacing it, even knowing that I am unable to sit here for weeks(or months) with my home business shut down.

Other Thoughts: XFX has some of the poorest customer service I have seen to date, and I would not recommend their products to even my worst enemies!

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than I expected, cont.

Pros: I purchased this card to replace a blown XFX 9600 GSO Fatality Edition.

So far so good. The higher (as compared to the before mentioned product) shader clock seems to make a much greater difference in frame rates than I expected. This product also seems to run cooler than my previous card. Runs quiet under a load. Native DX-10 support.

At this point, I can not complain.

Cons: Check your measurements. This card fit fine in to my Cooler Master, but was snug in my wife's stock Compaq, leaving mere millimeters between it and the case. Also the double PCI slot seating could be an issue, depending on the layout of your board.

Other Thoughts: I am not one to spend what I deem to be a ridiculous amount of money (several hundred dollars) on a GPU, even though I am a sometimes serious gamer.

If you are a person with a family, a job, a home, and other responsibilities that keep you from being an uber gamer like some of our readers here, then this card will more than meet your needs.

FSX (although more CPU reliant than most games) runs without issue, everything maxed out with fantastic frame rates! Call of Duty 2, Crysis, Bioshock 2, World in Conflict...all run beautifully.

All in all; a great mid level card for a mid level gaming machine.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Installed an Arctic Cooling S1 Rev. 2 and temps are at 27 idle with a 120 mm fan zip tied to it.

Cons: I think they forgot to install the chick magnet.

Other Thoughts: Plays Mass Effect 2 maxed at 60 frames. Plays Bad Company 2 really good also.

Pros: I make this card work hard and it takes it all in stride. Dragon Age has never been so smooth and seamless. It's a big one so check your measurements.

5 out of 5 eggs6.9 out of 7.9 Win7Ultimate64

Pros: This video card replaces my old NVidia GTS8600 and posts a 6.9 out of 7.9 on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit o/s. Had to upgrade as the old GTS8600 was very anemic when used with the newest Adobe CS5 Design Premium. FYI, the new CS5 64-bit Photoshop is showcased nicely when you enable OpenGL. Didn't want to go broke going with Fermi or the Adobe recommended Nvidia card so I researched what would play nicely with the new OpenGL drivers...lo and behold a GTS250 fits the bill for $150. For those who are on a budget and are using the latest Adobe CS5 Suite's consider this card. As usual, my order to Newegg placed early Monday was delivered the following day since Newegg has their east coast warehouse right across the river in Secaucus, NJ

Cons: Other Nvidia cards spec'd to play nice with the latest Nvidia OpenGL 4.x drivers are at least double what this card costs...since I am not a huge gamer, on a budget, and am a long time Nvidia champion this card meets my requirements. Drivers have to be downloaded since the supplied cd is not current. Not very happy with Newegg using "eggsaver" delivery hence I had to order another 6GB of DDR3 Corsair memory just to get the guaranteed 3day UPS delivery times.

Other Thoughts: Adobe CS5 Design Premium users beware...go with a video card with the largest amount of video memory as it helps when using Adobe Flash and Catalyst. Since CS5 is a memory hog don't forget you have to lower you overclocking expectations especially if you will be running a 64-bit o/s with PhotoShop. My mildly overclocked i7-920 with Asus P6T mb was dialed back from 3.8GHz to 3.1 when I added the extra 6GB of Corsair DD3 memory.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: I chose this VC because of the user ratings and the reliability other users claimed. This build is my wifes computer she does a little gaming (mostly BC2 on a team with her friends from work) and a lot of work from home so I needed it to be reliable with no glitches and resets. So far it has worked flawlessly.

Cons: No HDMI
