2 out of 5 eggsBlack Screens

Pros: The card came quickly and worked very well for a few days.

I gave two eggs because Newegg customer service is so fantastic. They offered real solutions and worked with me so that I would be satisfied. Otherwise, this would have been a one egg review.

Cons: I started getting black screens on the third day after installing. I researched a fix and found the numerous reports about the card being known for this. It is really a dice roll. I contacted Sapphire tech support for a fix and they asked me two questions and then told me to return it. They didn't seem surprised that I was having black screens. They didn't even make any attempt to resolve the issue. They Just asked if I had the same problem with the VGA output that I was having with the HDMI and then told me to RMA it. It took them around a day to respond to each of my messages as well. By the way, there is no phone support for Sapphire. You have to open a ticket with them and wait for a response. Very frustrating.

Other Thoughts: I RMAed the card and ordered a Sapphire 290x instead. Have had the card for 8 days without a blacks screen. If you order a 290 be prepared to RMA it.

1 out of 5 eggsDriver Issues

Pros: Seems like a great card, looks great, specs are great.

Cons: AMD doesnt help with all the driver issues. I purchased mine about a week ago and i have yet to figure out how to actually use it. the drivers provided are not working and the drivers provided by AMD's website all give me the "Install Package Failure" and will not download. Do not recommend this card to anyone.

1 out of 5 eggsNothing but a headache

Pros: None

Cons: I won't go in to a 3000 character dissertation. Go to ADM forums read up on the driver and hardware issues on the 290 series, look in to the black screen crashes and then make the decision for yourself if you would like to purchase this card. I would not recommend it to anyone - I should have stuck with NVidia

5 out of 5 eggsSuper awesome!

Pros: I upgraded from a Sapphire HD 6870 to this beast. I have had no issues at this point. It is quiet and stable. I have only played two games, Dragon Age Inquisition and Left-4-Dead2, on ultra settings @1920 X 1080, and it runs them very well without flinching. I'm very satisfied with my purchase thus far!!

Cons: No issues yet!! I guess you could say the price is a tad high for some people...

Other Thoughts: My system:
1. Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3, rev.4
2 AMD FX8350
3. Samsung EVO 850 (250gb) x1
4. G-Skill Ripsaw 4 x4gb, 1600mhz
5. this GPU
6. Corsair CX750M PSU
7. Rosewill Armor-EVO gaming mid tower case
8. Cool Master Hyper 212 EVO
9. Seagate 2g HD x 2
This GPU runs flawlessly. I have not experienced any of the issues reported here on this forum. Initially, I was a bit hesitant after reading all these bad reviews, but I'm glad I didn't let those bad reviews influence my decision because I have been using Sapphire graphics for years without any problems.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Graphics Card

Pros: Great performance and stays cool and quiet! This was my first build and I'm very happy with the results.

Cons: Had to RMA my first one because it would have intermittent crashes but replacement works perfect. Turnaround time was about a week from mailing it out to getting a new one back.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Shipped in the time frame I paid for.

Cons: Card arrived with scratches and black marker on the fan covers. Card does not work. Black Screen will not even boot up.

Other Thoughts: I can see an error from time to time. However, newegg shipped me a broken card and looks to be used. I put my trust in this company by purchasing from them, they failed me and I have to pay shipping to return it for a replacement. How many times will I have to pay for shipping before newegg gets it right? (maybe once if I am lucky the second time around) That is poor customer service.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks flawlessly crossfired with my XFX core edition.

Pros: I bought this to crossfire with my XFX R9 290 (that I bought the day the r9 cards were released.) and have loved the performance so far.

Cons: I wish I could get eyefinity to scale properly with a 21:9 in the middle and two 16:9's on the sides.

4 out of 5 eggsPerformance, temperature and AMD

Pros: AMD has always been my first choice, in terms of price and performance are my favorites, SAPPHIRE TRI-X R9 290 would be my next choice, like its temperature and performance, I decided on the price is important with you! AMD

Cons: Card a bit long
