4 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: This card has performed outstanding from day one haven't done any 4K. Everything else I have pretty much thrown at it doesn't seem to phase it at all. Wish I could have gotten a vapor X cooler but none the less card is fantastic.

Cons: None so far

5 out of 5 eggsBest card on the market

Pros: When I saw this beast of a card i knew id have to get it. By far this is the best card i have ever installed. It handles any game ive been able to throw at it. Being that im waiting for Star Citizen to launch I haven't come across any game that could challenge the card. It stays cool and provides a steady FPS no matter how fast you move.

Cons: size

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: everything, thats the best way to describe this card, its fast!! quiet and very powerful. so far i have not seen this card run hot at all and believe i have pushed it. i even gave it a slight overclock and it has not gone over 53 degrees. if your in the market for a serious card, this is it. i had a gtx 780, and this card blows it away.

Cons: nothing!!!

Other Thoughts: let me start by giving my name. my name is tedd springer and i would like to take this time to apologize, i owned a powercolor 290 and did not have that good of experience with it so i emailed amd and told them i was going to get a nvidia card, big mistake as the performance was disappointing. my friend told me about sapphire and i am glad he did because the performance of my 290 blows me away so much, i bought another and now running crossfire. so please except my apology as i will never do that again. great video card all the way around, i have not seen it go over 53 degrees and it performs to perfection!!!! great job.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card for the price

Pros: It's not the first time I choose to go with AMD , Team red is my favored destination and Sapphire never fails to deliver. My previous card was an XFX Radeon 7870 Ghz Edition which is still very solid by today's terms however I felt that it's no longer cutting edge and the Price/Performance on the Sapphire R9 290 is incredible so that's why I bought the card. It's been 5 months since I've bought the card and I am very happy with its performance compared to its price and in its price range nothing beats it ( unless you step up to the $340 mark , then I'd buy a GTX 970 . Nvidia's products are nice too , you know ?! ). I play on Dual 1080p monitors and I feel so happy with the experience as I can almost play any game I want with Ultra Settings 60+ FPS so I feel its a nice upgrade over what I had however I am thinking of buying another R9 290 along with a 3rd montior to experience the surround gaming. Alright enough of that and let's get down to the pro's and cons. My Setup : I7-4790K Asus Z97-AR 8Gb RAM EVGA 850W B2 Sapphire R9 290. Pros : 1- The Card is very cool under load and doesn't throttle down even after a couple of hours of stress testing , Temps are around 75c at max (Ambient temp is 26c ) it can handle battlefield 4 like a charm even after 6 hrs of intensive gaming . 2- Card Looks nice and is quiet underload. 3- Comes with 3 Free games 4- Handles 1080p gaming and even 1440P no problems on the high settings with the capability of achieving 60 FPS with the right settings 5-Mantle Support

Cons: Cons : 1- The Card is quite lengthy and won't fit into smaller cases even a compact mid tower case like Corsair 200R would require you to remove the Drive bays 2- Overclocking on the card isn't the best and simply doesn't do you any favors as you'll be better off sticking to the stock settings in order to benefit from the lower temps. 3- Power Consumption is high ( requires at least Quality 550W from solid PSU manufactures like EVGA , XFX ,Seasonic , Antec , Corsair and Rosewill ).

Other Thoughts: Overall : I am happy with my purchase as it's a set up from What I have before and The card also has potential support to 4K gaming when crossfired which what i'll be aiming to do in the next couple of months Thanks ,

5 out of 5 eggsWhat dreams are made of

Pros: This card is quite amazing for gaming. I can play every game that I have on max settings and not have a problem. There has only been a couple instances where I have manually turned down anti-aliasing, or other features, just so I can get my frame rate up higher. Forget the green company, this card rocks!

Cons: Price is the only con, they just don't give these away!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Performance and quality

Pros: I've had a 290 Tri-X for almost a year now and it's run everything I've thrown at it without hardly breaking sweat. I've rarely ever seen any of the games I play dip under 20FPS on the most demanding scenes, and I'll note that I run Eyefinity with three 21.5 inch monitors @ 5760x1080. Most every game, new or slightly older runs at this resolution without a problem. Cons aside, I don't believe you'll regret getting this card unless your significant other gets jealous about awesome hardware!

Cons: My only con is that the heatsink and fanshroud over shoot the graphics board itself by almost an inch, so it takes up a lot of space. It's also hard to find a compatible waterblock to replace this size queen of a card.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome performance!

Pros: Stays quiet.
Great Performance.

Cons: None so far after a few months with it.

Other Thoughts: It is a rather long card as it barely fit in my 250D.

5 out of 5 eggsbest top tier ever

Pros: The card stats cool and quiet. Looks great and works even better. Price for performance can't be beat. Top tier sub $240 with over lock, and a cooler that really excels is something you may never see again.

Cons: Little long. Make sure your case has space. Vapor-X is thicker and has a higher OC but with the right timing can be found for the same price

5 out of 5 eggsAH-MAZING Graphics Card!

Pros: *Fast
*Beautiful Colors
*Handles 2560x1440 without a problem
*Quiet cooling solution
*Two slots (not 3 like some cards)
*Great price right now (approx $250 at time of writing)
*Excellent heater in the winter

Cons: *Runs a little warm
*39c at idle (3 monitors, 72F ambient)
*74c under load after about an hour (single monitor, 72F ambient
*Won't make me a sandwich

Other Thoughts: So I have used cards from both camps (NVIDIA and AMD). Over the past two years or so I have had GTX 460 SLI, GTX 650 Ti Boost SLI, GTX 660 SLI, GTX 780, HD 7870 CFX, R9 270X, and now this R9 290. Some of these were just systems I built for other people, a few were ones I used for a while on my personal system. I have to say, the R9 290 is the best card I have used to this point. Gaming at 2560x1440 at 60FPS in most games with high settings. I primarily play Dragon Age: Inquisition, Skyrim (60 mods), BF3, BF4, Grid 2, Diablo 3, and Tomb Raider 2013. Beautiful colors, smooth gameplay, stable. Hit a solid 9200 in Fire Strike with no additional OC on the card. In fact, this is one of the few cards I haven't even attempted to OC. I don't feel like I need every last ounce of power out of it since it doesn't even seem to struggle with games now. The thing that makes me even happier is I was looking at an R9 290X at first. However, I came across such a good deal on this 290, I couldn't justify paying more for the 290X. I am glad I saved the money as this single card is absolutely blowing me away. AMD has really stepped up the game with the GCN, and specifically the Hawaii GPU. What I'm really happy about is that I have FINALLY found a card that I love, be using this for a good long time. Or until the R9 390X comes out :D

1 out of 5 eggsDestroyed my motherboard and won't refund me!

Pros: Ran silent. Didn't overheat.

Cons: Destroyed my motherboard within an hour of use.

Other Thoughts: After talking with a few savvy techs, I found that this card would be great with my motherboard (Sniper G97). It worked well for an hour. It played AC:Unity like a fiddle, but then my screen went blue and crashed. My system wouldn't start, and when it did... It just shut down immediately. I tried a system reset, but it continues even with my older video card. The Shapphire R9 290 shorted my motherboard and now I've lost my entire custom build. They won't even let me have a refund!
