2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it.

Pros: Works when it works.

Cons: - Causes issues with installing Windows 7. You must remove this card first.
- Installing drivers is not as professional and noob friendly.
- Hardware compatibility issues.

Other Thoughts: Meh. Buy American.

5 out of 5 eggsORICO PVU3-502I Monster USB3.0 PCI

Pros: Works great as add-on card, makes your old motherboard USB 3.0 ready for those looking to upgrade their case with USB 3.0 Connector.

Cons: you have to download software from disc to make this add-on card to work well, windows will detect but not will not work. It's not really a con, so make sure you use the disc it comes with.

Other Thoughts: Lucky I got it, now it's out of stock? worth an upgrade for those who needs 3.0 USB access.

1 out of 5 eggsRuined 3 Flash Drives

Pros: NONE.

Cons: It fried 4 flash drives immediately upon insertion, trying to get it to work in 2 computers. This model is no longer offered. I've sent an email to ORICO for a remedy. Since this product is no longer offered, I cannot inform people to avoid this from happening to them.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased other models of Orico USB3 Adapters that work fine.

3 out of 5 eggsSorta OK

Pros: More USB ports! You can never have too many. MOLEX power connecter delivers juice to devices.

Cons: I'm not sure if it's THIS product, but I'm only able to achieve USB 2.0 speed. The MOBO is one of the first AM3 boards, mid 2009, BIOS is up to date. Been unable to figure it out, but I'm pretty sure it's not the card. It's either a PEBKAC or compatibility problem. Either way, I haven't figured it out, but everything is as it should be, except the speed.

Other Thoughts: Just wish I could figure out the problem. If it's hardware, driver, Martians, registry. I wish FireWire had caught on. I haven't chased it too hard since there's not much that can actually use 5 Mbps.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great.

Pros: Bought this because my mobo has a USB 2.0 connector and my new case has 3.0 plugs on the front. It plugged right in and all the ports work. Aesthetically, the black plate looks really nice on the back of my rig.

I took the advice here and went straight to the manufacturer's website for the drivers and they installed with no issues.

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsPoor quality

Pros: It is one of the only few that are black and match my case and it is small so it doesn't block the airflow to my video card.

Cons: Poor quality, it came in an antistatic bag inside a box with no packing to keep it from tumbling around which is what I believe cause 1 of the capacitors to fall off. Since each port has its' own capacitor I am not going to bother and return it. I can get away with having only 4 outside ports instead of 5.

Other Thoughts: The caps are just tacked on and not soldiered really good. other than that it is fine.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: - Works
- The 20 pin header works
- 70 MB/s transfer rate
- As per USB 3.0 specs, all ports are powered
- Card looks attractive.

Cons: - None so far
- Hope it lasts
- ORICO is yet to establish itself as hardware manufacturer to trust. Although, its my second card from them, and I am happy.

Other Thoughts: - I tried it with Win 7 and 8. You will need to install software for both. No native drivers from windows update.
- This is a second Orico card. They both work. The first is about one year old. No problems
- I bought it because my onboard 20 pin USB 3.0 header died. This card allowed me to use my front ports. I see about 10 MB/s drop in speed vs. mobo's native ports. No biggie.
- Highly recommend this card.
- Ubuntu live sees this card without problems or additional downloads. Weird because win 7/8/8.1 can't.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well So far

Pros: - 5 powered USB 3.0 ports in the back
- 20 Pin adapter for front USB ports
- MOLEX power

Cons: - Partner shipping was not as fast as Neweggs

Other Thoughts: I bought this card because my MoBo's 20 pin USB 3.0 connector was misbehaving. So I purchased this PCIe card hoping to get my PC case's front USB 3.0 ports to work. To my delight they work. While transfer rate is a bit slower than native MoBo's USB 3.0 ports, it is not by much (about 10 MB/S). I am a happy camper. I went with ORICO because I have used their cards before. They always worked once you installed right drivers.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks fairly well except problems restarting in debian

Pros: Works great on windows 7 and 8 and debian testing (7) on the first boot

Cons: On Debian 7 testing after a restart the system I continually see errors showing up in syslog that usb port 2 could not be enabled!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Product & Customer Service

Pros: The board is well made. Although they refer you to Hong Kong for a shipping point, the product arrived in 3 days (from - Calif.) The sale of the board generated an email from the Manufacturers Rep. Thanking me for my purchase and offering a contact - In case I needed further assistance.

The Product Installer is very close to what is expected from any 'US' purchase. In my case, the install procedure ended up giving me a 'blue screen' (failure)...

I contacted the Mfg. Rep and they responded within hours - offering an updated install package VIA an International download site (free of course). The update software worked flawless fashion - and I am UP and running USB v3 from 5 ports (along side my 6 USB v2 ports).

Cons: The Install CD shipped with the Board, was old...

Other Thoughts: How can you replace a CD within an on-shelf product, without recalling all of the inventory? - Publicize the update site! (Your Companies update pages will also work.)
