2 out of 5 eggsWorks when it wants too

Pros: Its small and works well, when it works.

Cons: Usually won't be detected when coming out of sleep mode or rebooting. You have to pull the power cable out and plug it back in and hope Windows will properly detect it (which it often doesn't). Other than that....

Other Thoughts: If your a Canadian, according to the Belkin site, if you send it back for replacement, you'll be responsible for brokerage fees and duties. That's unusual as most companies I've dealt with when their cheap peripherals fail just send you a new unit and they're marked as warranty replacements so no duty or brokerage. Also thought i saw something about paying shipping?

5 out of 5 eggsRock solid

Pros: This hub just works and works. When I added a USB camera I had to connect the power adapter. I have not had any problems with any peripherals. Without the power adapter, the hub will shut down a peripheral that draws too much power, so no problems there.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGREEN hub

Pros: ultra compact
each port has enough power to power a portable HD via USB
green LED when port is active
true energy saver, the hub powers down when the computer is OFF
high quality USB cable included with hub
nice quality power adapter include with hub, does not overheat

Cons: hub powers down when computer is OFF, so do NOT try to use this USB hub to charge your cell phone when the computer is OFF

Other Thoughts: I have 2 of these daisy-chained to give me 7 ports on my desk. Works great! Just wish it was a cheaper.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: -Price, (well I bought it at work for $14)
-All I needed was 3 extra usb ports so the 4th for me is a plus.
-Look
-Stackable

Cons: None that I could find

Other Thoughts: I use this hub just to charge my PS3 peripherals, Headset, controlers and thats it. I dont use it with my computer.

2 out of 5 eggsworks well when it works

Pros: Compact, 4 hubs, lights when it is connected. Stack able but I only use one

Cons: it started with 1 device then kept getting worse. The computer would not recognize the device attached when powered on. I would have to unplug the device and plug it back in multiple times. Sometimes nothing on the hub would be recognized. I could tell when the green light didn't light. this would require unplugging the hub from both the Computer and the AC and plugging them back in sometimes multiple times. If the items plugged in are always powered on there are no problems, but then what is the point of USB being hot swappable if you have to leave things powered on.

Other Thoughts: if you are using it for a printer(s) that are always on it's a great little hub or extender for cables, if you plan on turning things on and off look into something else

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: This USB hub works no matter what I throw at it. Ive had a Zune hooked up to it charging (which pulls close to an amp of USB power), my USB powered external hard drive (pulls about 500mA of power, which is the standard max for a stabdard USB 2.0 port), a USB webcam (again, 500mA), and a flash drive (300ma), totaling 2.3 amps. This thing has not had a single problem. It has been plugged in to the wall the entire time, if you were wondering. Vista recognized it without problem, installed without any disks, and as far as i can tell, there is no lag, even with all four ports being used for transfers (yes, I have tested this). The hub is over 2 years old, and just keeps going. I would highly recommend this USB hub.

Cons: I need more ports... Trying to decide between another of these, or the 7 port. Problem with the 7 port is it has the same power supply as this one, 3 extra ports without any extra power. That kinda concerns me, as I really push these things...

Other Thoughts: This will continu to supply power to a Zune or an I-pod, even with the computer off. The thing doesn't even have to be pluged into a USB port, just the wall adapter in to an outlet. Works great when I have to recharge my Zune and my friends MP3 players on the road. The nice curve to it makes it imposible for those big USB adapters (like bluetooth) from blocking other ports. I have never gotten the "This device can preform faster in a USB 2.0 port" message with this hub, so it is always at 2.0 speed. Not sure if people are wondering this, but with that new game Rock Band for the X-xxx 360, this hub works fine. Not sure if people would buy this hub for that purpose, but if so, I have tested it with my X-xxx and it worked without a problem.

2 out of 5 eggsBelkin is Better Than This

Pros: Great design -- matte black, small and stackable.

Cons: - Unit fails to power/charge any devices when computer is turned off
- Getting more than 1 device to be recognized at a time requires lots of cable plugging and unplugging
- I was only able to get all 4 ports to function once (iPod shuffle (2nd Gen), iPod classic, iPhone and Seagate hard drive in powered Icy Dock enclosure)
- When booting or rebooting my MacBook Pro not one of my devices mounted on their own

Other Thoughts: I've never had any issues with other Belkin products; it's a shame that this one is less than stellar. I wish someone could nail both the design an functionality of a USB hub.

4 out of 5 eggsReliable service

Pros: Simple, stackable, works as advertised. Has served me well for years. Ports widely enough spaced that even porky Microsoft mouse/keyboard USB plugs don't overlap other ports.

Cons: Lightweight, can be pulled off the edge of a desk by heavy coiled USB cables.

Other Thoughts: Power brick requires the usual extra outlet space. Rounded shape takes up more room than strictly required. I've seen other reviews here on newegg that resulted in premature failure. No idea what the actual failure rate is, but mine's worked fine for years.

2 out of 5 eggsNot reliable

Pros: Stackable.

Cons: Worked for nine months and then would only work on two of the four inputs.
